How's this for an early Christmas present from Goober Peas Country Store.... Today we confirmed that the Duck Donuts Duck Truck will be returning for 2024... The Duck Truck will be with us the week before Christmas on December 20th (Wednesday). We'll take a brief break during the winter but will resume on March 29th, 2024 on Good Friday. Then from April to December 2024, DD will be with us on a monthly basis on selected Fridays, Saturday or Sunday to be announced as we progress through the New Year. Thank you to each of you who have made the Duck Truck's appearances at the store very popular for us and for Duck Donuts. Per the Town Of Boone.... No burning permits issued until further notice!

UPDATE: BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED AS OF NOVEMBER 22ND.

It is extremely dry out there!
The N.C. Forest Service, the Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office and the Town of Boone have issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits for Watauga County.
The ban will be effective today, starting at 5pm.
