Speedway Stout’s ominous, pitch-black appearance has become a hallmark of this modern-day classic. Chocolate and roasted malts dominate the flavor, supported by notes of dark fruit, toffee, and caramel. A healthy dose of locally-roasted coffee added to each batch brings out the beer’s dark chocolate flavors and enhances its drinkability. Despite its intensity, Speedway Stout’s fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel make it very smooth and surprisingly easy to drink. The artwork on the can, painted by watercolor artist Chelsea Courtney, depicts a fire lookout tower, one of many impressive and beautiful relics of a bygone era.

Clarity Rarity Hazy IPA Series is our 16oz hazy IPA series, featuring beers we lovingly refer to as our “Imagination Station graduates” – beers that moved from fan favorites in our taprooms to canned releases. Do you NOT like pickles? Ignore what you just read! Everything you hate about pickles, you’ll love about this beer. The absence of the acidic bite you might get from actual pickle juice leaves this pickle sour room to shine: zesty, dill-y, a crisp, unique, garden freshness.

Appearance: Pale straw, slight haze, off-white foam.
Aroma: Smells like a dill pickle straight outta the jar! Dill aroma up front, followed by earthy garlic, balanced brininess.
Flavor: An approachable sour. Not overly acidic, slight tartness. Refreshing, summer-y with a definite pickle juice taste.

BREWER'S NOTES
In 2021, we released a very limited run of Hold the Pickle 500ml Bottles. Then, in 2022 brewed Stuck in a Pickle – a draft-only Pickle Sour. Both of these pickle beers were uncomfortably popular. So here we are – brewing a big ol’ batch of PICKLE BEER that’s a perfect union of our last two pickle projects.

Portland, Oregon. Earth. (May 10, 2023)- Ecliptic Brewing is excited to announce the second beer in their 2023 Moon Room Series: Italian-style Pilsner. The series celebrates the opening of Ecliptic’s second location – The Moon Room – in Southeast Portland and all things lager beer. The Italian-style Pilsner will ship May 17th in 16-ounce can four-packs and draft.

John Harris, Ecliptic’s Owner and Brewmaster, says, “Italian pilsners came about when a brewer in Italy decided to try dry-hopping their pilsner, which is a process normally used in making traditional IPAs. This creates all the crispness of a classic pilsner, but it also adds the kiss of the hops to accentuate the aroma and hop flavor of the beer.”

Featuring Pilsner and Carapils malts and Harvest yeast, Ecliptic’s Italian-style Pilsner is just that- light and crisp. The beer is dry-hopped with Tettnang, Saphir and Saaz which provides a nice hop aroma, and it clocks in at 5.2% ABV, making it a very drinkable lager.

Moon Room Series: Italian-style Pilsner will be released in both draft and 16-ounce cans throughout Ecliptic Brewing’s distribution network beginning May 17th. Visit Ecliptic’s website for up-to-date details on potential release events.
