As the next wave of rain and snow moves into western Montana, road conditions are beginning to deteriorate. This is a recent view along US-2 at Yaak Hill, northwest of Troy. Valleys in northwest Montana could continue to see difficult travel conditions tonight due to snow and potentially freezing rain.

"Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has received the first CWD-positive results for an elk located in southeast Montana.

This was only the fourth elk across the state to test positive, and a fifth elk tested positive in southwest Montana soon after."
