We are delighted to display the fully restored Rudolf from the old fire & rescue station here at the Berlin General Store this year! We were a little late getting him up, but he has been painstakingly fully restored and refurbished by Mr Fred Cummings Jr. of the Berlin Highway Dept. (He even features LED lighting!). He will be up till New Years and then carefully stored for next year and hopefully displayed for many more Christmas’ to come in the future. A huge thank you to Fred for saving a small piece of Berlin’s Christmas history!

A huge “Thank you!” to the to the team at Prestige Construction Services for the fantastic job they did over the the past holiday weekend repairing our kitchen floor. Not an easy task by any means in a 220+ year-old building, but the work was done without any disruption to business operation and the results made a huge difference in the overall appearance of the store. The new deli floor matches the retail store floor so closely they look like they are one and the same.

Had a wonderful visit from our neighbor, Mr Jay Lange, and his extended family, during their visit from San Francisco last Friday afternoon - complete with a store history tour, group photo, and lobster rolls!

A huge thank you to all of the kids, parents and Sargent Goody of the Berlin Police department for helping with this event and allowing us the opportunity to be included in such a special occasion! A very special “Thank You” to the Berlin Community Preservation Act Committee for allowing us the opportunity to provide the catering for their meeting this past Tuesday evening at the old 1870 Town Hall.

We have not really pursued outside catering opportunities in the past due to our staffing and equipment levels, however, this event offered us an opportunity to explore these possibilities and see what could be done for future events. Our appologies for posting this so late - it’s been a busy week!

A huge thank you to the organizers, sponsors and participants in the 2nd Annual “Dump Run” car show today. Not one single piece of litter, trashbags, cups, etc. left in sight. The grounds look pristine- as if nothing happened there at all today, where 500 people were just a few hours ago.

It’s Springtime again and almost time for the annual Berlin Fishing Derby. The sign is already up on the store and the collection bottle is right on the counter next to the register. Please help support this long-time traditional community event. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
