I had the pleasure of stopping into Warm Springs Run General Store today to see how Regina was doing. She bought a lot of my shop's products so they could be carried on in the future. How much? When I opened Berkeley Springs Memories my intention was to provide Berkeley Springs and WV souvenirs. Through the following 12 years, we grew and branched out. I always felt that we were providing a needed shop and today, my final day of business, proved I succeeded. Beautiful flowers, heart-warming notes, hand-painted pictures, and hugs, laughs, and tears graced the day. We will miss our time here and we love all our customers. You made this job a delight. Our final words of wisdom... take a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

I'm trying my best not to get too teary-eyed today but I know that's going to be an impossibility. It's been 12 years of meeting new friends and being happy to see old ones. Through the years I know we've become a shop favorite to many and we're told frequently we will be missed. I really want to brag for a minute that in the 12 years we've been open you've only seen 2 people - Stacy Kyle Hovermale-Barnes and me. Never sick, always on time and smiles on our faces. There are a few reasons we're closing but the most important one is we're ready to retire and move on. Thank you all for the fun and laughter and the life-long memories we will share and cherish forever. We will be lowering the curtain today at 3:00 pm, taking the next 3 days to tie up loose ends and say our final goodbyes as a shop favorite in downtown Berkeley Springs. One more time - THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!

We have tried our best to "farm" out many of our best-selling items so they won't be lost to locals and visitors. What we know right now is all the "Big Faced" t-shirts, all items that have Berkeley Springs logos, Audubon Birds, a wide variety of Stuffed Animals, and maybe some other things I'm forgetting will be sold by our dear friends at Warm Springs Run General Store around the corner. Please be sure to visit them and continue all your purchases there. Old Fashioned candy, charms, and Jeanne Mozier books will remain in the shop that will now be occupied by a new shop. We will be in place, open and selling, until 3pm Sunday, May 28.

If you're waiting til the bitter end of our being open, you may be very disappointed in how much has been sold already. DON'T WAIT!!! Our official closing date is Sunday, May 28, 2023. We still have great sales of some of the wonderful things you have looked forward to for many years, but they may not last. We will be open every day (but Tuesday) from 10am to 5pm.

Living in a small town affords many ups and downs. One of the downs is the flow of gossip. I hope to clear up some of the misconceptions about our closing. Since it has been brought to our attention by customers that the folks from Inspired Chaos' new venture - MISCHIEF - triggered us to move out of our space and move on. This is totally FALSE. Stacy, Greg and I discussed our closing over a year ago with no help or coercion from ANYONE! My closing the shop is not going as I originally planned due to lease concerns, but our move is totally our choice. MISCHIEF will be a very welcome addition to our wonderful spot and we certainly wish them nothing but the best. I would appreciate it if you hear anything further to come to me personally for the truth. Gossip like this is hurtful, unnecessary, and completely false. If you hear anything please do me a favor and ask either Stacy or me for the truth. The people who support Berkeley Springs and our shop should be thrilled with this change. They will be carrying several items we have been selling for 12 years. AND our dear friend and fellow businesswoman, Regina Aamancha at Warm Springs Run General Store will also be carrying many of our products. We will be posting more details in the next 10 days so no one will have any questions.

"Parting is such sweet sorrow"... but so it goes. Things don't always happen as you planned, but you should always make the best of the situation. Therefore, on Sunday May 28, we will be closing our doors---permanently. Until that time we are open every day but Tuesday 10am to 5pm. Since we made the decision to close the shop permanently a while back we decided to put our best "sales" foot forward. What does this mean to you, the customer? When I was getting ready to open this shop years ago, I traveled all over looking for affordable, usable fixtures. This was NOT an easy task. Other shop owners, flea market folks, or professional yard salers - you need to stop in and mark what you would like to buy. In some cases we will need to keep the fixtures until we close - on May 28 - but we may be able to sell some now. Don't hesitate. If you snooze you lose.

We've made it official. Sunday, May 28 (1 month from today) we will be closing our doors...permanently! I am so proud of our accomplishments for the past almost 12 years. We started out thinking we would do this for about 5 years - oops, missed that call. You folks will be the real winners by taking advantage of all our sales, so don't wait.
