The safety of our visitors, vendors, and volunteers is our priority. Because of forecasted high winds for Sunday, the Winter Market will be moved to SATURDAY, December 9.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Talleyrand Park. It'll be a great opportunity to experience all that's happening during Bellefonte Victorian Christmas on a sunny December day.

Something to think about this year in your communities. 🫧🤍

Fun fact - our best ever sales day to date was small business saturday 2020.

Over the past three years we have watched the urgency to support small businesses slowly fade away.

There's no more "shop small!" "shop early" campagins anymore. We're kind of just.. out here. Our business survived the pandemic but we still need you.

These next few weeks will be crucial for not just us, but many small businesses across the country.

Our greatest competitor is convenience. We get people in daily that point at an item and go “oh! I order this on Amazon.” It’s one of the most hurtful things you can hear as a small business. Even just switching ONE product or service to a small business can change their trajectory and keep them open.

I’m not asking you to buy more, I’m asking you to please be intentional about shopping small when you can this year. Think twice before you "add to cart" and look local first.

In the spirit of full disclosure, at this rate, we won’t be around this time next year.

It’s not enough to love having small businesses in your community. You have to actually shop there.

A lot of shopping done on Black Friday is mindless — while we all want the “best deal” out there from big brands, I challenge you to shop with your local retailers in mind, as well as sustainability. Your local businesses need you most this time of year. 🫶🏻 While the market + other businesses don’t always have the ability to offer major percentages off like Target + Amazon — we do our best to offer incentives, some freebies, + deals that make sense for us + you. Each year, Downtown Bellefonte Inc. unveils a new Shop Small Crawl tote bag design. Participants purchase a tote bag (a fundraiser for downtown/revitalization efforts), and shop and collect pins at participating small business locations. The Shop Small Crawl kicks off on Small Business Saturday in Downtown Bellefonte.
