Five miles on a cloudy, 45-degree day. Can’t complain, though, it could be a lot worse! After December gets started I see days like this as a total bonus, not to mention it gets is another day closer to spring!

I think this my threshold now as it gets a little uncomfortable near the end. That part’s OK because I need to remember how it feels again and adapt, but I’ve got plenty of time to ramp up for the so I’ll stick here for now.

Tomorrow is an off-day but I’ll be looking for some great news from the ! Who else will be constantly checking their inboxes tomorrow?

I think in life there is a difference between love and passion. I love baseball, basketball, and running, but as most of you already know, I have a huge passion for auto racing. It just means something different to me.

I started going to in 1979, and attended my first race there in 1988. I've now seen the race 23 times! In 2017 I fulfilled a dream when I worked for driver Buddy Lazier and his team for the Indy 500.

The first two photos I took at 5 a.m. on race day. IMS is an incredible place, especially when it is quiet and empty. Hard to believe just a few hours later there were 300,000 people in the stands watching cars go by at 230 mph.

I'm sharing these photos because I just found out yesterday that I will be covering the IndyCar series for a website called Frontstretch! It's been a dream of mine to work for a racing publication, and after a long time trying it finally happened!

I can't wait to start writing and sharing my passion for racing. Watch this space for my first piece later on this week!

With the on tap this weekend, here’s a (and non-digital photo) to the 2001 race when pacer Ben Kimondiu stayed in the race and held of the great Paul Tergat to win the race.

I’ve run Chicago six times, and have spectated and been a member of the credentialed media several more times.

I have so many great memories of Chicago, but the 2013 race is the one that means the most to me. Read about it in the blog.

Hey guys! After milling it over for almost a year, I had gastric bypass surgery on July 20. It was very much a necessary step for my health, and my recovery is going very well. I’m trying to live in the present a little more so I only took one photo from the Indy 500 yesterday. It was great to be back with my boys and a full house crowd of more than 325,000 people. I went to for the first time in 1979 and I’ve thought about IMS and the 500 every day since, and it’s a place where a lot of dreams have come true. A beautiful day, a great race and a worthy winner in can’t ask for much more.
