Tasting Tuesday 4—7pm! Meet Pietro Dubini, the winemaker behind Cantina Palazzone Orvieto! 🇮🇹

Historically, Orvieto has been known for producing bulk table wine…Palazzone is working to change that! Pietro is passionate about preserving time-honored methods and natural expression, creating wines that capture the unique spirit and terroir of Umbria

He’ll pour 4 whites! Each made a different combination of 5 indigenous grape varietals: Procanico, Grechetto, Drupeggio, Verdello, and Malvasia.

Swing by tomorrow for a taste!

TODAY 4—7pm, meet Italian winemaker Andrea Rinaldi! 🇮🇹

Azienda Agricola Rinaldi Vini is located on the hills of Alto Monferrato  in the southern Piedmont, where they grow Moscato, Brachetto, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malvasia. 🍇

A wide range of grapes, this tasting will appeal to dry and sweet wine lovers alike! 🤩

Andrea will pour:

💫  Eramare
90% Cortese and 10% Sauvignon Blanc; affectionately called Fish Wine because of the label 🐟

💫  Moscato d’Asti
100% Moscato

🍷  Brachetto d’Acqui DOP
100% Brachetto d’Acqui

🍷  Barbera d’Asti La Bricca
100% Barbera d’Asti

🍷  Barbera Appassimento
100% Barbera but with a twist: the grapes are dried on straw mats for 6 weeks, concentrating both sugar and acidity, similar to Amarone!

📸 from last night’s private tasting: a Tour of Pinot Noir 🍷 we started with a fun Jura, made our way over to Côte de Nuit Burgundy and worked our way south into Côte de Beaune before heading west to Sancerre and then waaaaay west to Willamette Valley, Oregon and Santa Cruz, California. A worldwide tour of some of the absolute best of the best and an amazing showcase of the versatility of the Pinot Noir grape.

I never seem to take enough pictures when we pour private tastings, mainly because Jake and I are having too much fun chatting wine and sharing stories. This beautiful room, the spectacular set of Pinots (the birthday girl’s favorite grape!), and of course a custom map were too good not to share. Forever in awe that this is my job.

Thank you Andrea and Dave for inviting us into your gorgeous home!!

FRIDAY’S TASTING: Rosés that are almost reds to brighten up a cold, cloudy day! 💖

No need to wait for warmer weather to enjoy these pink wines—they’re ready to stand up to your heavy, hearty winter dishes. 🍲

A far cry from the light, mineraly style so common in Provence, these 3 wines blur the line between rosé and red, both in color and in style.

While they still bring lots of lush, juicy fruit, it’s balanced by savory, herbaceous notes and even a hint of tannin.

Swing by for a taste and grab a bottle for the future… you never know when you might need to brighten up a snowy (rainy?) (sleety?) day.

See you tomorrow?

TODAY’S TASTING: Chardonnay 3️⃣ ways! Whether you’re currently thinking “I hate Chardonnay!” or “I love Chardonnay!” This one’s for you.

Chardonnay is one of the most versatile grapes out there. Yes, it can be rich and buttery, but it can also be crisp and mineral-driven, or full of apple and spice like Grandma’s apple pie. 🥧

It’s all in the winemaking. This Friday, we’re exploring three key factors that shape a Chardonnay’s style:

🪵 Oak or stainless steel? Oak adds spice & texture, stainless steel keeps it crisp.

🧈 Malolactic fermentation? This process brings out those buttery, creamy flavors.

🍇 Skin contact? A rare choice for Chardonnay, but it adds color, texture, and a touch of tannin.

Stop by for a free tasting and discover three wines that’ll have you saying, “THIS is Chardonnay?!” 👀

FRIDAY’S TASTING: Cool climate French Pinot Noir 🇫🇷 If you know us, you know we have a slight obsession with German Pinot Noir (thanks, Ryan).

Tomorrow, we’re taking a short hop across the border into France, where the Mosel River becomes the Moselle, and two incredible Pinot Noirs await!

Like in Germany, the cool climate here allows for amazing expression of the bright red fruit and all the freshness Pinot Noir has to offer, while also bringing complex acidity and intensity.

These wines blur the cultural and stylistic lines between France and Germany—and trust us, you’re going to want to taste them. See you tomorrow (4—7pm!)?

PS pics from the World Atlas of Wine bc we all know no tasting with is complete without maps 🗺️

✨ The best part? Tasting is free, no RSVP needed. Swing by and sip with us (and maybe stock up before more snow falls)! ❄️

Today’s tasting: Pipeño! 🍇 Light and fresh, Pipeño is a style of wine that has been made in rural Chile for ages. It roughly translates to “peasant wine” and is made for immediate consumption in the most non-pretentious fashion possible. Two incredible pours from two regions. Slightly chilled, simple, sippable, and charming!🍷 See you this afternoon? 4–7pm!

TODAY 4-7: Crack open a taste of Australia! 🍻🇦🇺 M8 Beer (pronounced mate—as in “g’day mate!”) takes over the tasting table with four delicious brews that’ll transport you straight to the Land Down Under.

🍺 Dockers Lager
Crisp, refreshing, and crushable. The ultimate beer for kicking back with mates. (3.5% ABV)

🍺 Slim Dusty Hazy IPA
Hazy (but not too heavy) and packed with tropical fruit notes thanks to Australian and New Zealand hops. Smooth, juicy, and easy-drinking. (5.8% ABV)

🍺 Aussie Holiday Ale
Full-bodied and malty with a holiday-spice kick. A German-style doppelbock with an Aussie twist! (7.7% ABV)

🍺 Magpie Stout
Rich and roasty with notes of coffee and toasted malt. A smooth Irish Dry Stout to savor. (4.2% ABV)

Stop in, sip, and discover why M8 Beer is one of our favorite Baltimore breweries.

🍻 PS: Dockers and Slim Dusty are both on draft—grab a pint while you’re here!
