La Aurora - Family Creed Series Fuerte Sol - Toro

Two releases have come to market with a Mexican San Andres wrapper this past year that have wowed me: La Maestranza by RoMa Craft and this one: the Fuerte Sol by La Aurora.

Medium plus, balanced, and an intriguing (however moderate) complexity is at play. Sweetness trumps savory creating an approachable maduro for newer smokers and nuance for the refined palate.

San Andres is ubiquitous at this point but it is fantastic to see something new that tastes like something new.

Joya de Nicaragua - Cuatro Cinco

This blend remains incredibly consistent since its release back in 2013. It’s provides the robust and spicy flair of the Antano 1970 with a tangibly refined character. In fact, out of all the criollo blends, this one takes the cake for me.

Medium plus in terms of body and strength with bold flavors of baking spices, white pepper, and citrus.

This will be a blend we keep on the shelves more often. Check it out at our event Friday June 13th from 6-10pm.
