REGION: COLUMBIA VALLEY, WASHINGTON.
GRAPES: 75% MERLOT, 10% CABERNET FRANC, 10% MALBEC, AND 5% PETIT VERDOT.
AGING: SMALL OPEN TOP STAINLESS STEEL FERMENTERS. THE CAP WAS PUNCHED DOWN TWO TIMES PER DAY BY HAND. THE WINE WAS TRANSFERRED TO FRENCH OAK BARRELS, 25% NEW, TO COMPLETE FERMENTATION AND AGING.

Mary Taylor Bordeaux Blanc is a great example of Bordeaux sauvignon blanc. This vibrant Bordeaux Blanc has cleansing acidity and flavors of citrus and melon. This wine possesses the deeper texture, elegance, and richness of body that are the region’s hallmarks. According to Jean Marc, part of that depth is from the small touch of sémillon (the region’s “other” white grape) he includes in the blend. A quintessential oyster wine, according to Mary it has all the necessary structure to stand up to richer fish and shellfish dishes like pan-seared trout or broiled lobster.

Mary Taylor Bordeaux Rouge is an easy to drink elegant red Bordeaux. This wine is neither glitzy nor flashy, but perfectly embodies Bordeaux AOC wines, possessing lots of the dark-fruited complexity that made the region famous in the first place, but rendered in a brighter, more refreshing frame due to the absence of oak in the aging process which allows a bursting acidity and graphite minerality (imagine the lead of fresh pencil shavings) to shine through on the palate. Mary recommends serving it slightly chilled with anything from rib-eye steaks and pan-seared duck breast to earthy mushroom dishes and even burgers off the grill.

Crisp, bright, and vivacious! The chenin aromatics bring citrus characters of tangerine, yuzu, pear, orange blossom, and honeydew melon.
