Dry January is over and this weekend has been quite a beautiful one to celebrate making it through that achievement. That being said, February wine club is ready for all of our wine club members, with extra bottles being for sale separately for all those who are not. There are some killer options this month.

-A Portuguese Vinho Verde that is light and refreshing with flavors of pear, starfruit, and lychee.
-A red blend from Australia that has a awesome line-up of grape varietals that come together to give off complex and fresh notes of mulberry and plum with savory qualities of fennel seeds, bay leaf, and graphite.
-A 2022 Montepulicano d’Abruzzo that is an almost savory dark-fruited gem.
-A Grenache Noir (80%) and Syrah (20%) from the Côtes du Rhône area that has an obvious oak character among lovely spice of warm anise with a touch of cinnamon.

Sounds good doesn’t it? Well if you’re not a wine club member and like what you see, come on in and join us. We would love to have you! You’ll get monthly wines and discounts on cases and wine club choices. So what are you waiting for?

Wine Wednesday this week was one full of ice and snow so time to look at what is a better wine for a day like today (it’s warm….compared to what it has been). This wine is in the back corner of our shelves with our white wine varietals. With Athens, GA being named after Athens, Greece, it’s a nice wine to pay homage to Greek culture. It’s from and it’s made with a grape varietals called Assyrtiko. A crisp white variety full of zippy acidity, Assyrtiko comes from the volcanic Greek island of Santorini but is grown increasingly wide throughout the country today. Assyrtiko’s popularity isn’t hard to explain: it retains its acid and mineral profile in a hot climate, stands alone or blends well with other grapes and can also withstand some age.

“This intriguing white offers aromas of tropical fruit, herbs and white flowers, and a full-bodied but springy array of lime and herbs. The wine has an appealing creaminess but still maintains an elegant poise. The finish is lingering with a clean, salty spin.”— Susan Kostrzewa (Wine Enthusiast)

School is slowly getting back into the groove of things (if the snow would just stay at bay). This means the cold weather getting everyone into a sick and tired mode is really causing troubles with trying to wake our minds up so we start the semester strong. But man it’s hard. If in need of a weekend sipper that is named for your troubles, while still being delicious, look for the champagne of Irish Whiskey…..Writer’s Tears ( ). This light bodied, full flavored whiskey is a blend of single pot still and single malt whiskey, no grain whiskey in the blend at all. This whiskey is subtle, elegant and sweet. It’s an easy drinker and one that will help you get through this difficult start to those academic woes. Stay strong professors!!!…..and I guess students too. Cheers! 🥃📝📚

It’s a long weekend, which means cocktails are a must! If you’re looking for a new spirit to try for the new year, let us recommend cachaca! Cachaca is made from sugarcane, just like rum. But where rum is made from molasses (a rum by-product), while cachaca is made from fresh sugarcane juice. It is sweet, spicy, grassy, and fruity. The best explanation for it is like having the best qualities of rum and tequila combined. It’s amazing in cocktails, so we’re gonna try one out if you need an idea for how to use it. Here’s the Batida Rose cocktail.

You’ll need:

- 1 1/2 oz club soda
- 1 1/2 oz Cachaca ( cachaca is the way to go)
- 3/4 oz pineapple juice
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz grenadine

Pour soda water in glass with ice. Combine all other ingredients in shaker with ice and shake well. Strain and pour atop the soda water in glass. Garnish with lemon wedge (or a pineapple chunk). Enjoy!!

Wine Wednesday is here!! Take a deep breath and pour you a glass of wine, because the weekend is just around the corner. With a new year being here, we’re hoping to give a little look into unique wines that grace our shelves. This will help you find the wine you’re looking for (or didn’t know you were looking for) and get you home quickly so you can enjoy it!!

First to the spotlight is a lovely Italian red wine from .The varietal used in this wine is Barbera. Barbera is a dry, full-bodied, and acidic red wine made from black-skinned grapes that originated in Italy’s Piedmont region, where this wine is from. This dry, medium bodied red wine with refreshing acidity and soft tannins, the Barbera d’Asti Tre Vigne is well balanced with good integration of oak, good complexity and a finish of more red cherries. This wine is a perfect companion to food so keep one on hand for your next meal 😉🍷🍝

Holidays are inching closer and holiday cocktails are in the air. Many of you all have come in and asked for ideas while also sharing your own ideas for some delicious holiday drinks so we decided to keep it going with some of our favorites we’ve seen so far. Whether you’re revisiting the 1966 classic, or simply can’t get enough of the Jim Carrey portrayal from 2000, this cocktail is great for any take on the Dr. Seuss classic. It’s,

Is it a take-out night for you? It is for us. So what’s on the menu? Well since we just got in lager, we really were craving some delicious Indian food to pair with it. So we grabbed a nice little spread from our friends at and let us just say…..wow. Beer and take-out is a match made in heaven, and pairing the two things is really a must! This was some awesome food, so this more basic yet very good lager was great for the palate, as it still allows you to take in all the beautiful and delicate flavors and aromas of the intricate use of spices that Indian food is known for. If you need an idea for your next take-out night, let us recommend this delicious duo!! Bye now! It’s time for us to dig in!!! Cheers! 🍻
