If you run to the same rosé over and over again, this is the new one to try.

The Hidden Sea rosé is made in South Australia and can compete with your French rosés! Fruit forward with berry aromas but has a soft, drier finish. I love that it’s refreshing enough to enjoy a glass during the day but still a solid wine with enough flavor and weight to enjoy with dinner.

Wines made by celebrities and musical artists have an instant appeal, but a customer ALWAYS can tell if it’s a quality wine regardless of the famous face behind it.

When I first tried Zac Brown’s Uncaged Pinot Noir a couple years ago, I fell in love! This Pinot’s grapes are from Monterey, Sonoma and Napa and together create a wine with so many exquisite layers. And for under $20. Turned out, you all loved it too!

Since then, we brought in their Cabernet and most recently Red Blend.

If you love full-bodied reds with depth, you mussssstttttt try these.

Kudos to country singer and his team for creating high standard wines that can really hold their own when compared to other California wines!

So far today, I found 9 out of 10 customers facing our champagne section unsure of what to drink for New Year’s Eve. Listen, do I love a good splurge on Moët or V***e? Of course!! But the reality is, you don’t have to spend that much to have a good time and to love what you’re drinking! AND there are great tasting sparkling wines outside of the champagne region of France.

Here are some of my favorite & more affordable bubbles.

1. Our one and only Rosé Frizant— not champagne but a solid French sparkling rosé. The taste is pretty close to champagne but under $30 you’re not denting the wallet! Slightly sweet with lively fruit but nowhere as sweet as Prosecco. I may be bringing this bottle home tonight!

2. Unpopular opinion - I’m not the biggest fan of Prosecco 🫣. I find them too sweet. Mionetto is under $20 and has a dry enough finish for me — it’s the Prosecco I recomthe most (yesss even moreso than everyone’s favorite Tiffany blue bottle!)

3. Cielo Prosecco— at $10.99 it’s the biggest bang for your buck. You’re not sacrificing quality whether you’re drinking chilled on its own or mixing for mimosas!

4. Bohigas Cava — this is the underdog of our champagne section. Spanish sparkling wine with allllllll those beloved champagne bubbles that mask its dry finish. (Again, not a fan of too sweet wines!) My most elegant bubbly at $14.99.

5. Les Alliés Sparkling Brut — a French bubbly under $10– not always an easy find at this price!

6-8 are some nonalcoholic options:

6. hoppy refresher variety pack is my first suggestion to customers who wish to celebrate without the “taste” of alcohol. This mix pack offers enough flavors and achieves hoppy standards without tasting like alcohol.

7. alcohol-removed rosé. One of my favorite budget brands. Did you know they source the excess grapes from vineyards that produce 90+ point wines? The “TJ Maxx” of wine brands! You’re getting a deal when the wine feels like it should be worth more.

8. And of course, these mini alcohol-removed Proseccos. Perfect for one night only if you don’t want to commit to a larger bottle.

That’s a wrap on Christmas 🎄🥂💫 Still soaking it in before we have to prepare for the next holiday —New Year’s Eve! Even though we run on holidays in this industry, celebrating the in-between moments are just as (or more) important. Slow down, friends — end 2024 well rested!

Tired & a tad bit overwhelmed mess of a working mom to the right. But the reason I’m still chugging along and can still handle life is because of this man to the left and the rest of the Clocktown Liquors team! The store wouldn’t be operating without their genuine care and commitment. Very thankful for them all and also to our customers and community.

Merry Christmas Eve! Closing our doors at 8pm tonight. And we will be closed for Christmas Day.

With the end of the year approaching, it’s easy to reflect on 2024 and what we hope for during its end and for the following year. And as we reflect, pain and hurt will automatically resurface, because that’s life— good days, bad days, best days and tragic days. I hope you push towards peace amongst it all and celebrate the goodness of this season — even if it feels small.

The clocktown team is grateful for our community — that it works so hard to support small businesses. We’re also grateful for our customers— loyal and new. I’m particularly grateful for all my team members. They work incredibly hard — they’re consistent, flexible and kind. Always. Without them, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today.

And of course, I’m grateful for this little crew pictured here. Although I’m losing lots of sleep due to the cranky turkey above, they all sure know how to humble me reeeaaall quick and soften my heart amongst any chaos or distress.

I hope you all find rest tonight with full hearts and full bellies. I also hope you continue to stay strong above your weary days, and seek out the good for the remainder of 2024.
