Zebulon Artisan Ales just dropped off some yumminess in the form of:

Original IPA circa 1840 (for SACAGAWEA) - 5.9% ABV. IPA as it tasted when it was still shipped to India. Brewed with the finest English pale malt and 160 IBUs of East Kent Goldings hops. Aged in oak barrels for a year with Brettanomyces then dry hopped with more EKG. Funky and intense!

Traditional Imperial Stout circa 1850 (for Johnny Cash) - 11% ABV. Brewed with the finest English pale, brown and black malts and 100 IBUs of East Kent Goldings hops. No candy bars, peanut butter or marshmallows, just a massively complex old school stout. Aroma of espresso and Italian amaro. Deep flavors of fudge, coffee, licorice and bittersweet cocoa that finishes with a firm bitterness that keeps you coming back for another sip. Aging potential 3-5 years.

Fresh Burial Beer!!!

End of Plagues India Pale Ale - All along we had nothing to fear. Just the pale grim unwinding of our minds. Then the sun rose and fell. The scabs dissolved into scars. The scourge persisted only as etchings on our thoughts. And we awoke as mere mortals once again. Made with Oats and zero lactose this time. Whirlpooled with Incognito. Double dry-hopped with Citra, Sabro and Vic Secret. Loads of tropical fruit frappe, sweet coconut creme over pineapple gelato, and tangerine laffy taffy. - 7.2% ABV

Bright Italian-Style Pilsner - Respect the day, honor the night. These journeys through mortality, the facing of immense questions of our finite ends. And yet there shall always remain one reaffirming truth. After the darkness comes the bright light. A take on crisp, herbaceous and uber-refreshing Italian-style Pilsner, spearheaded by brewer Ryan Riggs. A blend of pilsner malts create the base, while a collection of German hops provide the bright aromatics and floral flavor components. After a slow step-down crash, we dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc, Huell Melon and Grungeist. The beer then lagers for many moons before delivering this burst of dry Verdicchio wine, strawberry soda, and citrus baked pastry.

Fonta Flora Brewery is here!!!

espontáneo - Mashed in the turbid method with local pilsner malt and local raw wheat until the milk runneth clear. Boiled extensively for maximum color achievement with aged whole leaf hops for proper bitterness. After the boil, this wort was transferred to our coolship, sitting open on our farm, on a cold winters evening. The wort was left there to cool overnight and in the morning, was transferred into a square tank for primary fermentation. With nothing other than the natural airborne yeast and bacteria which inoculated the wort, this is the true magic of spontaneous brewing. After primary fermentation, this beer was then transferred into tequila barrels for extensive slumbering.

Don’t Be Afraid - A true definition of patience, we began planning this beer in the winter of 2024. Knowing exactly what peppers we wanted to feature in a beer, the process started where most things do (well, at least for us) by ordering the seeds! As we don’t really have the best setup for starting pepper seeds so early, our good friends at Bluebird Farm started them for us. Once established, we transplanted all of the peppers in Nebo, North Carolina at our farmhouse brewery. In total, we had 100 pepper plants growing at our Whippoorwill Farm location in the summer of 2024. Intentionally selecting the habanada (a heatless habanero) for it citrus-forward aroma and the carolina reaper for it’s depth of flavor and well, it’s insane level of heat, our careful pepper blending highlights the nuances of both varieties. As the name suggests, we did not intend for this beer to be like the “one chip challenge”, even though around the brewery during the blending we joked about it being called the “one can challenge”. Using a highly aromatic and crushingly crisp west coast pale ale as the vehicle, the citrus and tropical-forward hops compliment our pepper blend, which we really don’t think you should be afraid of.

Kinokuniya Bunzaemon Junmai Ginjo 300ml - It is a slowly brewed junmai ginjoshu made from "Omachi" rice, which gives a rich and aromatic flavor, and "Yamadanishiki" rice, which gives body to the sake. It is characterized not by a dazzling fragrance but by a gentle taste consisting of a full-bodied savory flavor and sourness. We recommend to drink at "chilled".Enjoy its refreshing taset and aroma of "Ginjo".

Ginban Banshu 50 Junmai Daiginjo 720ml - This junmai daiginjo has a beautiful nose of chrysanthemums, marigolds, mushrooms, and unripe strawberries. Banshu starts with a semi-thick viscosity filled with strawberry and banana flavors wrapped in shimmering and soft complexion. This is a very easy drinking sake that is a crowd/party pleaser as grape tones and a soft acidity play make it a very wine-like sake. The dry finish is superb and the light and shimmering journey through the mouth makes for a velvety smoothness and drinkability. This sake tastes like quality! Very good chilled and at room temperature. Also, as an interesting side note, the brewer claims "...is less likely to cause hangover"

Fonta Flora Brewery just dleiverd two annual favorites:

Barrel-Aged Wolf Spit - Mashed with local barley malt along with a delicate blend of the finest caramel, chocolate and roasted malts. Boiled with locally foraged shagbark hickory bark. Fermented cool and conditioned cold with our preferred house lager yeast. Lagered cold for a total of six weeks and then transferred into freshly dumped Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. After a brief slumber in the barrels, we then transferred this beer back into stainless atop more toasted hickory bark.
Expect a beautifully nuanced and textured chocolate and coffee profile, faint whiffs of char and bourbon along with rich and complex notes of the barren yet beautiful winter forest. 11% ABV

Steinbock - Brewed with water from our wells along with 82% local ingredients
Crafted in collaboration with the lager making homies of Zillicoah Beer Co. of Asheville, North Carolina. Mashed with local pilsner malt along with heaps of toasty Vienna and Munich malts from our friends at Riverbend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina. Boiled exclusively in our open-top oak foeder with hot granite rocks, gathered from a quarry in McDowell County, inside the flames of local cherry and oak wood. This is the magnificence of steinbier. The rocks are pulled from the flames, dipped into the wort and with a sensational sizzle, a mind-bending amount of caramelization is achieved. Fermented cool with a house favorite lager yeast and conditioned cold for an extra long time. Precisely the way lagers were intended to be.
This cold weather crusher provides delicate notes of Highland scotch whisky and crème brûlée. Along with rich minerality, this iteration of a traditional doppelbock is one of our very seasonal offerings. 8% ABV.
