Well, we're getting near the end of our supply of Dark Arts. If you would like to get some, today would be a great day to come by. We have three of the four left, though, the single malt is just about gone (the Moscatel finished bourbon has sold out). We still have solid supply of Napa Cab finished bourbon and a Madeira finished rye.

All are available to taste and the prices are $125 for the single malt and $100 for the others. We are open from now until 5:00 PM today, on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Well, we've got a live edition of the movie Fast and Furious playing out in real time at the ABV Barrel Shop with our Dark Art picks. We've had it in the shop for 10 hours and several are almost sold out (we got a full barrel of the Napa Cab Finish, but partials on the others).

Here's a look at the rundown:
8-Year Bourbon Finished in a Moscatel Wine Cask. This one comes in at 114.74 proof.

8-Year Bourbon Finished in a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Cask. This one was nicknamed the Key West Pick by Royce Neeley who was on the picking team for this one because of its ever so slight note of coconut. He wants a bottle to sip on his next trip to Key West. 115 proof.

Boxing Bear #10 has arrived. This is the classic 51-45-4 mash bill Demetrius uses. It is named Mail Jeep because Demetrius' grandmother used to always drive ex-mail Jeeps she would by at auctions once they were retired. It comes in at 118.7 proof and sells for $80. We have four barrel picks. Here's a look at the rundown:

We've got something very special with our Airman Art of the Spirits barrel picks happening right now at the ABV Barrel Shop. While supplies last, we have a special Air Force "F-Suicide" box that comes with each bottle purchased. These are made by a military veteran/friend of Art of the Spirits founder Richard Paul.

The two bottles have the exact same bourbon/rye double barreled blend inside of them, but there are two different labels named after the bombs dropped at the end of World War II: Fat Man and Little Boy.

We presold a bunch of these, but have a limited stock left in the store and for sale. We've only got two Fat Man bottles and about a dozen Little Boy bottles left. Stop by to give this one a taste or to buy your bottles. If you want to order over the phone for later pickup, reach out to us at 636-333-2134.

We've got some new picks in the store as of today. First up, we've got a rye whiskey finished in a wave stave barrel. The wave stave barrel have more surface area inside the barrel because of the wave-like grooves cut inside the barrel. A large, well-known commercial product with a similar type of production would be the Sinatra line from Jack Daniel's. The barrel pick comes in at 112.6 proof and sells for $70.

Then we've got three offerings from Art of the Spirits. Little Boy and Fatman are simply two different labels with the same double oaked 117.6, 9-year rye whiskey in the bottle as well as a new line from them called "Prohibition." This one is a 5-year double oaked bourbon.

The Art of the Spirits labels go for $110 and the Prohibition is $50.

This is a collaboration started by Rich Anders of Washington Distilling Company with Adam Stumpf of Old Monroe and we've found this series is very popular with our customers. It's Donuts & Whiskey Day here at the ABV Barrel Shop.

We're trying to promote our fellow Arnold small businesses as we all recover from the recent tornado. We've got donuts/baked goods from the following: Shamrock Donuts, Drew's Donuts & Harter Bakery.

As our community works to rebuild, we are incredibly thankful at our store for the showing of support we've received after being shut down for a few days because of Friday's weather event. We've had people come into the ABV Barrel Shop for the first time saying they just wanted to support us for being here and to thank us for being part of this community.

Because of this support, and the continued need to do more as we rebuild, we want to do something special. On Saturday, March 22, we're going to head out to some local bakeries in the morning and pick up some baked goods. We're talking donuts and pastries. These will be purchased from small locally owned bakeries in Arnold that have faced the same issues we have during these tough times. We're putting some of the goodwill we got from people coming in and spending their hard earned dollars with us when we opened back up, right back into Arnold and our fellow business owners.

So, hopefully, you can come by and taste some of these treats and baked goods. No charge... just see what they are all about. We'll have where they are from marked on the tables. You might find a great new place you like... or maybe you taste something you like and go visit them when you leave our shop. This is truly the way our community gets better by coming in and supporting our small businesses with your shopping dollars.

I know we've got customers from all over St. Louis and many are questioning how they can help. We've supported charities from all over the St. Louis Metro region with no regard to cost. We just wanted to be good business owners. Help us make this a special day by coming in and seeing what some other small businesses are doing in the area on Saturday. Our community heals as you don't forget about us, you come into it and support those that have been impacted by this storm. It doesn't even matter if you see us... come to Arnold and show your fellow St. Louisans that you care.

We are incredibly thankful no lives were lost here and devastated by the reports of the loss of life in other communities around the State of Missouri. We encourage you to help keep by shopping the backbone of our community... the small business owners who live here and have been dealing with issues in their businesses and personal lives.

Let's make a difference together... because that's when we are at our best... when we work together!

It's been a harrowing few days, but we are glad to be back open for business. We've got a couple of really fun reasons to come visit us today on our first day back.

First, we've got a real Customer Appreciation Deal, going on our our clearance rack. We're closing our our Cedar Ridge Rye and Cedar Ridge Single Malt finished in port, for just $25 each. The retail price had been $80. These probably won't last beyond today.

Also, we've got a fun event tonight. It feels good to be able to get back together so let's have some laughs and enjoy some great whiskey. We're going to be pairing our barrel picks with some funny Irish/St. Patrick's Day treats. We're not talking corned beef and cabbage here, think more along the lines of cookies and candies.

Being shut down for a few days certainly hurts a small business like ours, but we actually feel very lucky. So many of our fellow business owners aren't able to open today and this storm will be impacting our community for a while to come. Let's support them when they get back up and running and let's come out tonight and celebrate the fact we can get back together at the ABV Barrel Shop.
