Why you need to embrace the concept of a bagged wine…
Those of you who have tried Pouya’s “Bagnum” (a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah that comes ONLY in a 1.5 liter bag) are already comfortable with the liberating knowledge that bagged wine no longer = bad/cheap wine. Winemaker Fernanda Parra, who always seems to be on the cutting edge pivoted towards bags from bottles in response to the global glass shortage, but what started as a response to a supply problem has become a passion.

1. The bags leave no imprint of flavor or smell on the wine and can be stored up to 2 years (do you store ALL of your wine for 2 years?)

Wines from Queretaro have finally arrived!

The wines of Barrigon have to be tasted to be believed and there is no parallel yet emerging from this region.
The wines are made in ludicrously small batches (60 to 110 cases of each wine) from the organically farmed estate vineyards situated at an elevation of 6,200 ft in the Mexican state of Queretaro. Already well known for its sharp and expressive whites and prolific sparkling production, the entire direction of Queretaro’s wine production stands to be modified by the approach Barrigon is taking, and, even more so, the results. The wines defy what you think are the limits of expression and manage to find balance while possessing the most extraordinary amplitude.

Dedicated to making wines that are precise expressions of place, Barrigon uses no corrections at any point during the winemaking process- fermentations are carried out with ambient yeast and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration.

Each label depicts the “Barrigon” one of the people involved in the operation, which is essentially the larger than life representation of the essence of their spirit - full, defined and possessing limitless bravado.

You may have heard about Viñas del Tigre, but you’ve never been able to source them until now.
