The Lichen 2014 Blanc de Noir is something special in so many ways!
First, this estate wine is produced using the finest organically-farmed Pinot Noir grown on their estate in the Anderson Valley in California. The vines were planted in meter-by-meter spacing, taking inspiration from the Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy and Champagne.
Second, the winegrowers here use the gentlest equipment coupled with minimalist techniques to convey an elegant wine that’s focused, well balanced and structured and a pure expression of the fruit used to create it.
This wine offers a fine, persistent mousse (aka, degree of carbonation) which lifts the aromatics of grapefruit, crushed granite and warm, toasted brioche. Done in the traditional champagne method, using the heart of the cuvée, this wine presents a more complex, concentrated fruit flavor and higher acidity striking a beautiful balance between classic French champagne and the opulence of a premier California sparkling wine!
Normal retail is $50/btl - on sale for the holiday season at $23.99/btl! Limited quantities available. Did we mention it’s a beautiful bottle and makes a great gift?
Remember, when pairing wine with food, you can never go wrong with champagne! Pair with a cheeseboard during the parade, pecan pie after dinner and everything in between!
