Opening Day is here!⚾️
42 years ago the Albuquerque Dukes embarked on their historic season where they held a record of 94-38 (Second all time in PCL history at the time). They went on to win the PCL Pennant which was the second of their 1980-1983 Three-Peat. The 1981 club was recognized by the National Baseball Association as the 11th best minor league baseball team of all time. The same team was broadcasted on television in Los Angeles due to the player strike. Once the player strike ended the Dodgers played an exhibition game against the 1981 PCL Champion where the Albuquerque Dukes beat the Dodgers 1-0.

Here’s to over 100 Years of History and our NM True Certification. The Albuquerque Dukes dates back to 1915, donning the name the Dukes after the Duke City itself! Baseball has deep roots in New Mexico with the earliest games being played in the early 1800’s. We are proud of the rich baseball scene in New Mexico and our thankful for our recognition from NM True! ⚾️

Throw Back Thursday - In 1972 the Albuquerque Dukes won their first of many PCL Championships after sporting a record of 92-58 with Manager Tom Lasorda. Two players of importance in the legendary run are Second Baseman, Davey Lopes and Third Baseman, Ron Cey. Both went on to have success in the MLB with a collective 10 All-Star Selections as well as helping the Dodgers win the World Series in 1981 with Ron Cey being named World Series MVP!
