ABQ Corks & Brews
an afternoon tasting experience of local beers, fine wines and craft spirits. Discover what New Mexico has to offer - including award winning Local Breweries, Wineries, Distilleries, Musical Talents and Food Trucks. We will be cultivating an experience from the moment you walk the in, entering the Industrial Blacksmith Shop. Relax in our lounge areas while you enjoy your beer, wine and spirits, take a photo in our photo booths, listen to different musical talents on stage and browse the local art being showcased throughout the venue. ABQ Corks & Brews will be hosted at the City of Albuquerque’s Blacksmith shop located as the Historic Albuquerque Rail Yards, on October 6th, 2018 from 12pm to 4pm. Estimated 1,000 people will attend this tasting event and is a 21 and older event. The Yards is a historic structure almost 100 years old in downtown Albuquerque on 1st Street SW. The event will be quite picturesque at The Yards because of its steel ceilings, multicolored stained windows, and industrial architecture. The view of the Sandia Mountains is something to see from The Yards. This years beneficiary is Future Fund. In 1997, the Future Fund of the Albuquerque Community Foundation started as a way to engage young professionals who were interested in learning about the philanthropy. The Future Fund invited these young people to make annual contributions that would be pooled for maximum endowment growth and grant making. The group started with 12 couples who agreed to contribute $200 annually. Over the years Future Fund membership and endowment have grown. Every year, the Future Fund meets to award at least $15,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations. To date, the Future Fund has granted over $250,000 to nonprofits selected by its membership, including Health Care for the Homeless, All Faiths Receiving Home, CLN Kids, PB&J Family Services, Watermelon Mountain Ranch and Rio Grande Food Project. In addition to grantmaking, the Future Fund hosts fun & unique social events and volunteer activities. The Future Fund is committed to making our community a better place to live and represents the spirit of generosity that is alive among today’s young people.
