He appeared mostly in small parts, but his first leading role came in Raoul Walsh's Western The Big Trail (1930), an early widescreen film epic that was a box-office failure. He played leading roles in numerous B movies during the 1930s, most of them also Westerns, without becoming a major name. John Ford's Stagecoach (1939) made Wayne a mainstream star, and he starred in 142 motion pictures altogether. According to biographer Ronald Davis, "John Wayne personified for millions the nation's frontier heritage."
Wayne's other roles in Westerns included a cattleman driving his herd on the Chisholm Trail in Red River (1948), a Civil War veteran whose niece is abducted by a tribe of Comanches in The Searchers (1956), a troubled rancher competing with a lawyer (James Stewart) for a woman's hand in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), and a cantankerous one-eyed marshal in True Grit (1969), for which he received the Academy Award for Best Actor. Wayne is also remembered for his roles in The Quiet Man (1952) with Maureen O'Hara, Rio Bravo (1959) with Dean Martin, and The Longest Day (1962). In his final screen performance, he starred as an aging gunfighter battling cancer in The Shootist (1976). Wayne made his last public appearance at the Academy Awards ceremony on April 9, 1979, and died of stomach cancer two months later. In 1980, he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor of the United States

NATIVE AMERICAN MAP : ๐Ÿ‘‡
https://nativesspirituality.com/products/mapped
I have often written about my Native-American heritage. Native American blood runs in our family in my mother's and father's lineage.
The ancestors of living Native-Americans arrived in North America about 15,000 years ago. As a result, a wide diversity of communities, societies, and cultures finally developed on the continent over the millennia.
The population figure for Indigenous peoples in the Americas before the 1492 voyage of Christopher Columbus was estimated at 70 million or more.
About 562 tribes inhabited the contiguous U.S. territory. The ten largest North American Indian Tribal Nations were: Arikara, Cherokee, Iroquois, Pawnee, Sioux, Apache, Eskimo, Comanche, Choctaw, Cree, Ojibwa, Mohawk, Cheyenne, Navajo, Seminole, Hope, Shoshone, Mohican, Shawnee, Miโ€™kmaq, Paiute, Wampanoag, Ho-Chunk, Chumash, Haida.
A tribal map of Pre-European North America, Central America, and the Caribbean by Michael Mcardle-Nakoma (1996) is featured below. It is an important historical document for those of us who have Native-American blood running through our veins.
This map gives a Native-American perspective on the events that unfolded in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean by placing the tribes in full flower ~ the โ€œGlory Days.โ€ It is pre-contact from across the eastern sea or, at least, before that contact seriously affected change.
Stretching over 400 years, the time of contact was quite different from tribe to tribe. For instance, the โ€œGlory Daysโ€ of the Maya and Aztec came to an end very long before the interior tribes of other areas, with some still resisting almost until the 20th Century.
At one time, numbering in the tens of millions, the Native peoples spoke close to 4,000 languages.
The Americasโ€™ European conquest, which began in 1492, ended in a sharp drop in the Native-American population through epidemics, hostilities, ethnic cleansing, slavery, and the Indian Removal Act of 1830. An estimated 60 million Native-Americans were killed by this combination of events.
When the United States was founded, established Native American tribes were viewed as semi-independent nations, as they commonly lived in communities separate from white immigrants.
Today, American Indians and Alaskan Natives account for 9.7 million people, according to the 2020 Census.

No bodyguards, no luxury houses. Keanu lives in an ordinary apartment and likes wandering around town and often seen riding a subway in NYC.
When he was filming the movie "The Lake House," he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants, one crying as he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 - On the same day, Keanu deposited the necessary amount in his bank account. In his career, he has donated large sums to hospitals including $75 million of his earnings from โ€œThe Matrixโ€ to charities.
In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery & bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him.
In 1997 some paparazzi found him walking one morning in the company of a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening to him and sharing his life for a few hours.
In life, sometimes the ones most broken from inside are the ones most willing to help others.
This man could buy everything, and instead every day he gets up and chooses one thing that cannot be bought;
To be a caring person. โ™ฅ๏ธ

He fought in the 1876 Battle of the Little Bighorn, and in 1881 he gave one of the few detailed accountings of the event. He also drew pictographs of the Little Bighorn Battle. Red Horse married twice and had three children.
Red Horse drew 42 ledger book drawings illustrating the Battle of Little Big Horn. The drawings are held in the Smithsonian Institution's National Anthropological Archives, and a selection has been exhibited at the Cantor Art Center at Stanford University in the exhibition, Red Horse: Drawings of the Battle of the Little Bighorn. The drawings were commissioned by Charles E. McChesney, an Army doctor. The drawings were made in 1881. They were drawn with colored pencil on the manilla paper.
The drawings show hand-to-hand warfare in a brutally honest manner, and have been described as "the most trustworthy sort of visual depiction we have of the battle" that does not centralize General George Custer's role in the fighting.

Children are sacred in all Indigenous cultures. Protect our children and keep them with their families.
A little Pikuni (Blackfeet) boy wearing wool leggings and a breechcloth in the 1890โ€™s. Children wore small versions of adult clothing, included beaded outfits and dresses, along with ceremonial items such as headdresses. Boys usually wore nothing but breechcloths during warm weather, as did many men. The ears of children were pierced quite early, usually by older women who first recounted four noted deeds โ€” like warriors โ€” regarding such work as hide tanning and lodge (tipi) making. The main time to pierce ears was during Sun Dance inside the Medicine Lodge. Pikuni children learned by watching their elders and imitating their actions

After establishing himself in the Detroit hip hop scene, he broke through into mainstream success with a rap rock sound before shifting his performance style to country rock. A self-taught musician, he has said he can play every instrument in his backing band and has overseen production on all but two of his albums.
Kid Rock started his music career as a rapper and DJ, releasing his debut album Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast (1990), on Jive Records. His subsequent independent releases The Polyfuze Method (1993) and Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp (1996) saw him developing a more distinctive style, which was fully realized on his breakthrough album Devil Without a Cause (1998), which sold 14 million copies. This album and its follow-up, Cocky (2001), were noted for blending elements of hip-hop, country and rock.
His most successful single from that time period, ""Cowboy"" (1999), is considered a pioneering song in the country rap genre. His best-selling singles overall are ""Picture"" (2002) and ""All Summer Long"" (2008). Starting with his 2007 album Rock n Roll Jesus, his musical output has tended to be in the country rock style. Politically, Ritchie is a vocal supporter of the U.S. Republican Party and holds conservative views on fiscal issues and foreign policy.

"A Bird Sitting on a Tree is Never Afraid of the Branch Breaking..." ๐Ÿฆ…โœจ
This powerful quote reminds us of the inner strength and self-reliance we must cultivate, much like the bird trusting its own wings over the branch it rests upon. It speaks to a core value shared by Native American leaders, including Red Cloud, the great Oglala Lakota chief, who emphasized resilience in uncertain times.

The "Spirit of the Thunderbird," sculpted by Chris Navarro, stands as a visual embodiment of this wisdom. The bronze sculpture, housed in the Navarro Gallery and Outdoor Sculpture Garden in Sedona, Arizona, captures the spirit and essence of freedom, power, and self-trustโ€”qualities symbolized by the legendary Thunderbird in Native culture.

Eric SchweigEric Schweig (born Ray Dean Thrasher; 19 June 1967) is an Indigenous Canadian actor best known for his role as Chingachgook's son Uncas in The Last of the Mohicans (1992).

Schweig was born in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. He is of mixed race (Inuvialuk, Chippewa-Dene and German). He is the oldest of seven children, who were all adopted out as part of the Canadian government's failed attempt at forcing Inuit and First Nations children to assimilate into white society. Schweig's biological mother died of alcoholism in 1989. He never met her. "She didnโ€™t drink a drop of alcohol until we were taken away," says Schweig. "We were part of the whole assimilation programโ€”forcibly taken away, although my adoptive parents told me I wasn't." Schweig was adopted at six months of age by an English-speaking German-French family. He spent his childhood in Inuvik until he was six, when his family moved to Bermuda. They later moved back to Canada.

"I eventually grew tired of living in a prison without walls and ran away when I was 16. What transpired between then and now has been a roller coaster of alcohol, drugs, violence, failed relationships, despair and confusion. Who am I? Where do I come from? Where is my family? Where do I belong? When life's mystery has been shattered by strangers watching over you, a lot of these questions are lost."

Schweig ran away to Toronto, Ontario, where he supported himself by framing houses. In 1985, he was part of the cast of The Cradle Will Fall, an experimental adaptation of Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening produced by Theatre of Change at the Actor's Lab; this was his first experience as an actor. In 1987, at twenty years old, he was approached by a producer who suggested he audition for a role in the movie called The Shaman's Source (1990). With little formal education or experience he won the role. The film launched his career in the film industry.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Biles won individual gold medals in the all-around, vault, and floor, bronze on balance beam, and gold as part of the United States team, dubbed the ""Final Five"". At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where she was favored to win at least four of the six available gold medals, she withdrew from most of the competition due to ""the twisties"", a temporary loss of air awareness while performing twisting elements. She won a silver medal with her team and a bronze medal on the balance beam; the team was nicknamed ""Fighting Four"" as a tribute to the adversity they faced. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she became the first American woman to win two Olympic all-around and vault titles, the first woman of any nation to do so since Vฤ›ra ฤŒรกslavskรก in 1964 and 1968, and the second woman ever to have won 2 Olympic all-around and at least 2 World all-around titles. She also won silver on floor and gold as part of the United States team, who were nicknamed ""Golden Girls"".
Biles is a six-time World individual all-around champion at the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, six-time World floor exercise champion (2013โ€“2015, 2018โ€“2019, 2023), four-time World balance beam champion (2014โ€“2015, 2019, 2023), two-time World vault champion (2018โ€“2019), and was a member of the gold medal-winning United States teams (2014โ€“2015, 2018โ€“2019, 2023). She is also a four-time World silver medalist (2013โ€“2014 and 2023 on vault, 2018 on uneven bars), a three-time World bronze medalist (2015 on vault, 2013 and 2018 on balance beam), and a nine-time United States national all-around champion (2013โ€“2016, 2018โ€“2019, 2021, 2023โ€“2024).
In 2019, Biles broke the record for most World Championship medals in gymnastics; she won her 24th and 25th medals at the event, surpassing Vitaly Scherbo's 23 World medals. Biles has since secured an additional five World medals, for a total of 30. She holds the record for World all-around titles , and is the sixth woman to win an individual all-around title at both the World Championships and the Olympics, the first since Lilia Podkopayeva in 1996 to hold both titles simultaneously. Biles is the tenth female gymnast and first American female gymnast to win a World medal on every event, and the first female gymnast since Daniela Silivaศ™ in 1988 to win a medal on every event at a single Olympic Games or World Championships.
In 2022, President Joe Biden awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In 2023, she won her eighth U.S. Gymnastics title, breaking the 90-year-old U.S. Gymnastics title record previously held by Alfred Jochim. Biles has won the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year thrice (2017, 2019, 2020), and Comeback of the Year once (2024).

Kicking Bear (1845-1904) was an Oglala Lakota band chief and warrior who rose to prominence during the Black Hills War at the end of the 19th century. He came from a warrior family and had fought alongside his brother Flying Hawk and his cousin Crazy Horse in many battles, most notably the Battle of Little Bighorn. Alongside his wartime occupations, Kicking Bear was also a holyman, and was one of the leaders of the Ghost Dance Movement among the Lakota. The followers of the movement believed that proper practice of the dance would unite the spirits of the dead with the living and bring the deceased Native Americans to fight against the U.S.' westward expansion. After the murder of Sitting Bull he was imprisoned for a year. Upon his release he joined a Wild West Show and toured Europe, later stating that it was the most humiliating experience of his life. Kicking Bear was also a talented painter, painting his account of the Battle for Little Bighorn. He also fought for the rights of his people, complaining to the BIA about drunken white traders on the reservation.
He is pictured above, teaching his son how to use a bow.
