You know the secret to a festive red, white and blue cocktail? …grenadine and curacao! Here is a recipe for the books that’s sure to impress your 4th of July party goers.
1 oz. grenadine
3 oz. lemonade
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. blue curacao
Add grenadine to a glass. Fill with ice. In a shaker, shake lemonade and vodka. Gently pour the lemonade/vodka mixture over the back of a spoon into the glass. Then cascade blue curacao over the back of the spoon. Slow and steady is the key.

Spanning the great Rhône River with many grape varieties, France’s Côtes du Rhônes are quality red blends that are among the oldest vineyard regions on the planet (think Greeks, Romans and Medieval Popes alike). The Christmas Old Fashioned. A fun twist on a classic cocktail that never gets old! Made with bourbon or a spicy rye whiskey. Stop by the store and ask our expert staff for our top whiskey and bourbon picks. Open till 6 pm tonight! Merry Christmas Eve!!
Ingredients:
• Bourbon or spicy Rye Whiskey – 2 shots
• Simple syrup or Christmas syrup (recipe below) – 1-3 tsp.
• Angostura bitters – 2 dashes
• Orange zest and sugared cranberries for garnish
Maple Cardamom “Christmas” Syrup:
• ½ cup pure maple syrup
• 1 cinnamon stick (or tsp. ground cinnamon)
• 1 tbsp. cardamom pods, lightly crushed (or ½ tsp. ground cardamom)
Instructions:
1) To make the maple cardamom syrup. In a medium pot, bring ¼ cup water, maple syrup, cinnamon, and cardamom to a boil over high heat. Boil 2-3- minutes, then remove from heat. Let cool. This syrup makes enough for the about 6 drinks.
2) Gently stir the whiskey, simple syrup & bitters into a mixing glass with ice & stir. Strain over fresh ice into an old-fashioned glass. Twist the orange peel over the surface of the cocktail, & then rub the rim of the glass with the orange peel before dropping in. Garnish with sugared cranberries and cinnamon stick and server.
