โAkshayya" (เค
เคเฅเคทเคฏเฅเคฏ) means " never endingness " in the sense of prosperity, hope, joy, and success.
Tritiya means "third phase of the moon".
This Hindu festival is observed, on the third Tithi (lunar day) of the Bright Half (Shukla Paksha) of Vaisakha month, which correlates to April / May in the Gregorian calendar.
According to one legend; During their exile in the forests, the Pandavas and their wife Draupadi were pained by the lack of food for customary hospitality to their numerous saintly guests.
Yudishtira, the eldest brother, did penance to Lord Surya who gave him the Akshaya Patram, a bowl which would remain full till Draupadi had her meals.
Once they were visited by sage Durvasa, who requested food for himself and his many disciples.
Draupadi already had her meals for the day, therefore the food vessel could not be used. Durvasa was famous for his anger, and Draupadi did not wish to upset him.
She prayed to Lord Krishna who appeared and accepted the single Tulasi leaf that still remained in the vessel and declared himself satisfied.
At that moment, Sage Durvasa and his many disciples also felt filled and decided not to request meals of Draupadi and the Pandavas.
Lord Krishna then blessed them for the Akshaya Patra to remain full with food of their choice, even to satiate the entire universe if required.
The day is observed with the worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, followed by charity, including the giving of clothing, grains and cooked food to the needy, especially children and the elderly.
On a personal level, new clothing and gold or silver jewelry are purchased for the continuation of oneโs own wealth and prosperity.

According the Sanatan Dharma time moves in a cyclical manner, meaning, the end of one cycle is the beginning of another, therefore there is no end to creation. We believe there is an auspicious timing, and we follow it in every walk of life, whether it's to begin a new venture or make an important investiment.
๐๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฒ๐ is one of these occasions. In Sanskrit ๐๐ฌ๐ด๐ฉ๐ข๐บ๐ข means eternal or that which never diminishes.
Any new undertaking or ventures launched or valuables bought on this day are considered to bring success and good fortune. The purchase of gold is also popular on this day. Undertaking Pitri tarpan, Snan, Jaap, Hawan, Puja, giving danam, as well as performing charity are very auspicious on this day.
This day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The puranas state those devotees who perform Sri Maha Vishnu and Lakshmi pooja on this day while giving dana attains salvation.
Devotees also use the opportunity to pay homage to Yaksha Kubera the divine treasurer through Puja and Jaap as his worship on this day.

Hanuman Jayanti
Significance of the festival to Hinduism
Hanuman Jayanti is the day on which Hanuman is celebrated since he is the one who stands victorious despite all the odds. Hanuman is celebrated because he had at his side Satya which is Shri Rama. Hindus worldwide start the month of Chaitra with Rama Naumee celebrations culminating on the ninth day. On the 15th day of this month, Hindus venerate arguably the greatest devotee of God, Hanuman.
English meaning of the festival
The word Jayanti is made up of Jaya which means victory and Anta which means end. Jayanti refers to one who triumphs in the end. Hanuman Jayanti is the day on which Hanuman is celebrated since he is the one who stands victorious despite all the odds.
How the date is decided annually
Hanuman Jayanthi is observed in the month of Chaitra on the Full Moon Day (Purnima).
How to observe/practice
It is considered auspicious to undertake a fast on the Hanuman Jayanti day in the name of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Jayanthi is marked by fasting, prayer and a sumptuous vegetarian feast at sunset. A distinctive feature is the recitation of the of the Hanuman Chalisa. It is also appropriate that on this occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi we should try to understand the significance and relevance of this great devotee of God by reciting and discussing scriptures such as the Ramcharitmanas.

Chaitra Navratri 2024 Day 1: Maa Shailputri
The much-awaited and auspicious time of the year, the nine-day festival of Navratri will start today.
May this Navratri, everyone uses the divine blessings and power to overcome their problems in life.
Devotees offer their prayers to Maa Shailputri after the Kalash Sthapna. Goddess Shailputri is the daughter of Himalaya. Born in the house of the king of mountains, the pictorial depiction of Maa Shailputri shows her having two hands, holding the Trishul or the trident in the right hand, a pink lotus in the left, and a crescent adorns her forehead. She is seen riding on Nandi bull, she is the wife of Lord Shiva and has two kids, Ganesha and Kartikeya.
She is the goddess of the Muladhara Chakra or the Root Chakra, who upon awakening begins her journey upwards. Shailputri is associated with crimson red colour. Maa Shailputri represents nature and governs the moon. If you are someone who gets adversely affected by the moon, then you should worship Maa Shailputri to get rid of its ill effects.
Devotees call Maa Shailaputri with names like Sati, Bhavani, Parvati, or Hemavati. According to Hindu mythology, in her previous birth, Sati's father Daksha Prajapati was a proud king who never accepted her decision of marrying Lord Shiva. He organised a Yagya and didn't invite Lord Shankar and when Sati reached to question him, he insulted her husband. Sati couldn't tolerate her husband's insult and immolated herself.
Navratri Day 1 Puja Vidhi:
On the first day (Pratipada), devotees install the Kalash. This ritual is referred to as Kalash Sthapana or Ghatasthapana. On this day, the Shailputri form of Maa Durga is worshipped. Red symbolises passion, auspiciousness as well as anger. Ghatasthapana is one of the most significant rituals. The Muhurta of Ghatasthapana will be from 05.28 am to 10: 14 am. Begin the puja by invoking Lord Ganesha and seek his blessings for a hurdle-free Navratri fast. Then invoke Goddess Shailputri and request her to accept your humble prayers.
Navratri Day 1 Bhog:
Offer Naivedhya, you may offer Kheer (pudding) made of Cow's milk as bhog. Then offer fruits, coconut with its husk, bananas, paan and supari, Haldi and kumkum. Worship Maa Shailputri, seek her blessings while offering the bhog.
All are invited ๐๐๐๐บ๐ค
Let us welcome the mother of the universe, Adi Shakti in her different forms, this Navaratri๐๐๐บ๐. Everything you need for worshipping Maa. JAI MATAA DI๐บ๐.
