Le Hoyo de Río Seco is presented in slide lid boxes of 10 cigrs and boast an impressive 56 ring gauge which immediately makes them one of the widest to be found in the standard Habanos portfolio.

Le Hoyo de Río Seco is the second vitolato be introduced to the new Le Hoyo Series range which was launched in 2015 with the Le Hoyo de San Juan, a cigar which also carries a heavy girth (5?” (150mm) x 54) to reflect the continuing trend towards stout cigrs.

The new vitolasjoining the Le Hoyo range only use Seco and Ligero leaves in the blend that are grown in San Juan y Martinez, a small town in Vuelta Abajo zone which provides most of the premium tobcco leaves destined to become Habanos. The famous Hoyo de Monterrey plantation is also located here which grows some of the finest leaves for other prestigious Habanos brands.

Cohiba Robustos. Cuba's number 1 brand is undoubtedly Cohiba due to the exceptional quality of the tobcco used in its composition. The Robusto module is by far the favorite of connoisseurs, with its 124 mm length and 19.84 mm diameter (cepo 50).

This is the part of the cgar that gives the best aromas. Tasting before lighting brings out insistent aromas of earth and vanilla at the foot. When the cgar is drawn cold, a slight salty flavor clings to the lips and slightly pungent notes of buckwheat honey spread across the palate.

Once a Cohiba Robusto is lit, the perfection of the draw continues throughout the cgar, releasing a thick, plentiful smke with the creamy texture typical of Cohiba. The full-bodied flavor of black honey dominates the first third. The famous grassy taste characteristic of all Cohibas makes its appearance from the first draw, although the aromatic bouquet is only slightly perceptible. The olfactory sensations continue with a creamy, earthy taste, ending with a peppery nuance. In the 2nd third, the cgar becomes more complex, combining wood, caramel, honey and cedar. All these flavors come together in complete harmony. The 3rd third is characterized by copious aromas of cocoa and leather.

The Montecristo brand hold numerous records in the cgar world, the No.4 is the best selling there ever has been, the No.2 is the gold standard the best the world has ever seen, and the Montecristo No.5 is the shortest coming out of Cuba. Perhaps one of the stoutest cigrs you will ever see, only 10cm long but with a ring gauge of 40! This makes for a very intense cigr, certainly one to try.

Cohiba Siglo Medio. As part of Cohiba’s 50th anniversary celebrations, a new vitola was introduced to their La Linea 1492 range called Medio Siglo.

Medio Siglo (translating to half century) is the first new vitola to join the Siglo series since the addition of the Siglo VI in 2002.

Cohiba is the flagship brand of Habanos.

It was created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro himself and was made at the then top secret, but now world famous, El LLaguito factory. At first, it was only seen outside Cuba as gifts for heads of state and visiting diplomats.

Since 1982 Cohiba has been available in limited quantities to the open market.

The name is an ancient Taino Indian word for the bunches of tobcco leaves that Columbus first saw being smked by the original inhabitants of Cuba - the earliest known form of a Habano.

The leaves for Cohiba are the "selection of selection" from the 5 finest Vegas de Primera in San Juan y Martinez and San Luis districts of the Vuelta Abajo zone.

Uniquely amongst Habanos up to three of Cohiba's filler leaves , the seco, ligero and the rare medio tiempo, undergo an additional fermentation in barrels. This unique process produces a special aroma and flavour you will only find in Cohiba.

Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigrs that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both banker and cigr maker. His bank closed in the early 1920's but his cigrs live on as a fine example of an elegant,light to medium flavoured Habano.

H. Upmann's blend is composed exclusively of filler and binder tobccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone.

Gold medals in no less than eleven international exhibitions during the 19th Century can be found on the brand's labelled boxes.

Measuring 4¾” (120mm) in length and boasting an impressive 54 ring gauge, the Magnum 54 is the latest introduction to the H. Upmann range. The cigr immediately claims the crown of the widest girth to be found within the brand’s standard portfolio and is presented in SLB boxes of 25 and 10.

The 54 joins the H.Upmann Magnum family alongside the current Magnum 46 and Magnum 50 and like them, proudly displays its name on a second band.

H. Upmann cigrs are light to medium in flavour, totally handmade using long filler with all leaves sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba, widely regarded as the best tobcco growing land in the world.

Hoyo de Monterrey owes its origin to the town of San Juan y Martinez, which lies at the heart of the Vuelta Abajo zone. Here the Hoyo de Monterrey plantation, one of the great Vegas de Primera, can be reached through a gate on the town's main square inscribed "Hoyo de Monterrey. Jose Gener. 1960."

"Hoyo" literally means "hole" and in this case describes the low-lying position of the plantation on the fertile banks of San Juan y Martinez river. Jose Gener, a Spaniard from Tarragona, first used the name of his vega on a brand of Habanos in 1865.

The flavour of Hoyo de Monterrey's blend makes it an attractive choice for those who seek a delicate yet aromatic Habano that is lighter to the taste but with great elegance and complexity.

Hoyo de Monterrey was the first brand to introduce a Petit Robusto in 2005, the 50 ring gauge size with a shorter length to suit those who like thicker formats, but do not always have the time to enjoy them.

Cohiba Maduro 5

Habanos S.A., the world leader in premium cigrs, presented its star launch for 2007: Maduro 5, the new Cuban maduro (dark wrapper) cigr line from Cohiba. Maduro 5 is a valuable addition to the internationally renowned Clásica and 1492 (Siglos) lines of Cohiba.

Maduro 5 embodies the best traditions of Cuban dark wrapper cigrs, utilizing the upper leaves of the tobcco plant and undergoing a long, natural fermentation process to achieve its distinct range of dark colors and textures. The wrapper, aged for 5 years, imparts unique characteristics to the three available sizes: Genios (52 x 140 mm), Mágicos (52 x 115 mm), and Secretos (40 x 100 mm). These sizes are in line with the latest market trends.

The Maduro 5 line features a special Cohiba ring band with a lower black stripe indicating "Maduro 5." The wooden boxes are also darker in color compared to the Clásica and Los Siglos lines, further distinguishing the brand.

The La Flor de Cano Casanova Cigar (Ex. Italia 2016), part of the 2016 list of Edición Regional releases, is in very limited supply because Habanos produced a total of only 6,000 boxes of 10 Cigrs each. Highly sought after and very popular, this Petit Robusto not only looks fantastic, it tastes it too.

The Casanova presents a mild vanilla sweetness to the whole of the cigr, which is complemented by the spicier tones, such as black pepper and Chinese five-spice which will satisfy the smker for an average of one hour and forty-five minutes.
