The Cuvelier family carefully crafts Château Moulin Riche from a single block of 20 hectares nestled within the renowned vineyards of Château Léoville Poyferré, a 2nd Growth of St. Julien. Initially labelled as the second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré, Château Mouton Rich has since gained independence and become a Grand Vin with its 2009 vintage. Presented in an elegant Year of the Snake-inspired gift box, Bin 389 was often referred to as ‘Baby Grange’, in part because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. First made in 1960 by the legendary Max Schubert, this was the wine that forged Penfolds’ reputation among red wine drinkers by combining the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz. Exemplifying a judicious balance of fruit and oak, Bin 389 highlights the generous mid-palate Penfolds is known for. Intense with blackberry, dark chocolate, mocha aromas and roasted almonds, roasted chestnut, with hints of sesame nuances. Great length and silky tannins, with notes of chocolate, liquorice and blueberries emerging on the palate. Velvety firm with a fine tannin plume on the finish.

Known for combining traditional winemaking with modern techniques, the winery gained international recognition when its Jia Bei Lan 2009 won the Best Red Bordeaux Varietal Trophy at the 2011 Decanter World Wine Awards, marking a breakthrough for Chinese wines. Medium to full-bodied, the 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗤𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘅𝘂𝗲 𝗝𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟳 ($̶𝟭̶𝟬̶𝟰̶ $𝟴𝟴) is complex and focused, with aromas of cedar, cocoa powder and fresh blackcurrant, on a nice layer of tree bark and tomato leaf, connecting freshness with fine ripeness. Fire by Night is a single-origin Chenin Blanc grown on Alheit Vineyards’ very own Paardeberg property called Nuwedam. the Paardeberg sports an embarrassment of riches: pure decomposed granite soil and an abundance of dry-farmed old bushvines. It holds a mythical place in the hearts of owners Chris and Suzaan Alheit, as it is ground zero for the quality revolution sweeping the Cape and also the home base for some of South Africa’s wine heroes. Fire by Night is a name that holds personal significance to the Alheits, paying homage to the bible verse where the Lord led his people out of Egypt in a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. Vibrant and intense, 𝗔𝗹𝗵𝗲𝗶𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 ($̶𝟴̶𝟴̶ $𝟳𝟱) offers white flower and roof thatch aromas that segue into a taut, focused, stony, effortlessly concentrated palate with layers of fennel, oatmeal and green apple.
