Our vision is to create a limitless carrying experience and support a minimalist lifestyle for life in constant motion. The Stockholm based company Bukvy was founded by Elena Ekström and Joanna Bark. It started out with an idea of the ultimate bag. One bag in many forms, evolving as life does. Two friends with jobs on the run, living apart relationships, nights out, many activities in one day and

too many things to carry. Two friends with bags,
rucksacks, totes and clutches to fit in their daily belongings: computer, sketch block, wallet, lunch box, gym clothes, keys, books, snacks, glasses, phone, clothes and so on. Knowing eachother already as kids, we dreamed about making th the ultimate escape and survival bag. It needed to float, contain milkshake, fit life in space and hopefully a best friend. Today our dreams are still big but in new ways. From what started as a longing to be on the run, a desire to be free and the satisfaction of knowing where your belongings are ended up in a life project. It has taken hours of construction, craftsmanship, discussions and testing to get to the final result and it is with great pride we are giving you our ultimate bag – the Bukvy Bag. Our first bag is made in Spain of genuine vegetalbe tanned leather. It is a small but focused
collection made to simplify and organize the daily life of urban people through function and elegance.

Our items are produced in our carefully selected studios in Portugal and Spain, where people work under good circumstances and for fair pay. We only use European-sourced leathers which means that the animals have lived and been handled after the EU's standards. No dangerous chemicals have been used and the process is carefully supervised and controlled ❤️⁠

The name Bo Bardi is inspired by architect Lina Bo Bardi who is famous for her Modernist buildings in Brazil. Bo Bardi did not work from an office but at the construction site and from home during the night. Long after she completed a building she improved it through adaptations after the people using the space and moving around it. We admire her for her way of creating with her mind on movement, integration and life.⁠
