HOW TO CHECK IF PURCHASED PERFUME IS LEGIT

PAY ATTENTION TO THE PACKAGING
If it is a fake, you might notice a number of grammatical and spelling errors. The name of the brand might be spelt wrong. Also, do check the box or the cellophane sheet the bottle is wrapped in. If you notice it is loosely packed, there might be a chance it is fake. Most luxury perfumes come in tightly packed cellophane packaging.\

THE BOTTLE SHOULD BE PERFECT
Most luxury perfumes have exquisitely crafted bottles. These are hard to replicate. Remember to check the weight of the bottle, along with the clarity of the glass. Original perfumes will have crystal clear appearance. For most luxury brands, the shape of the bottle is a reflection of their brand value. So if you observe that the bottle is too brittle or light then it might be a fake. The bottle on the right is fake and you can make it out looking at the darker concentrate in the bottle and the name of the brand is smudged. The one of the left is original Chanel perfume, lighter in shade.

THE BARCODE AND THE BATCH CODE
One of the sure-shot ways of knowing if your perfume is authentic is to closely observe its bar code, manufacturing date and serial number. It should be clearly visible on the packaging.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE "BOUQUET"
The 'bouquet' is the original formula of the perfume and is the easiest giveaway of a fake. An original perfume will always have three notes or layers - head notes, heart notes and base notes. When we spray the perfume, the fragrance proceeds from the higher note (head note) to a lower note (base note). The fragrance of a fake perfume ends at the head note and doesn’t last long. Do your research about the notes and trust your nose!

SEARCH AND RESEARCH
Visit then brand’s website to get information about the perfume, its packaging and pricing. Additionally, one can visit a nearby store to get a feel of the authentic perfume. Make note of the packaging, pricing, location of the details on the packaging and its ingredients. It will help differentiate between authentic and fake perfumes. Check the batch number and bar code with the manufacturer if you have long standing doubts.

KNOW YOUR PERFUME WELL
Original perfumes are usually complex and have three layers of fragrances. The top, middle and bottom layers of fragrance that smell different at different times. Fake perfumes have a very flat fragrance and at times gives you a headache when sprayed. Authentic perfumes have a long list of natural and synthetic ingredients that give it complexity. The fake ones on the other hand are singularly made from synthetic ingredients and cannot match up the complexity of the original ones. Trying out the smell of the perfume is a good way to distinguish the original ones from the fake ones. Regular users are bound to make the distinction with a single spray.

KNOWING THE SELLER
It is usually preferable to buy them from a reputed seller to minimize the chances of being sold fake perfumes. Buying perfumes online pose a risk unless thorough background checking has been done on the seller. Here in King's Perfumery, we only sell 100% original perfumes. That is a guarantee.

Coach for Men is a woody scent with a fresh opening, developed by IFF perfumers Anne Flipo and Bruno Jovanovic.

Top notes: green nashi pear, bergamot, kumquat.

Heart: cardamom, coriander, geranium.

Base: vetiver Haiti LMR, suede, ambergris.

Actor James Franco is the face of the fragrance, embodying the ideal of a cool American guy. The fragrance comes as a 12 percent Eau de Toilette. Coach for Men was launched in 2017.

COACH PLATINUM FOR MEN

After Coach for Men fragrance from 2017, Coach (Interparfums) launched a masculine Coach Platinum perfume in the summer of 2018. "Coach Platinum takes you on a road trip across America that ends in New York City."

The composition, described as a fresh oriental, is signed by perfumer Bruno Jovanovic. It contains notes of sage and sandalwood as the dominant ones, complemented by the fruity pineapple accord at the top, aromatic tones in the heart, and patchouli and vanilla leather in the base.

In late July 2016, Versace launches Dylan Blue, a new fragrance from the Versace Pour Homme
collection under the license of Euroitalia, which includes the original from 2008 and the Oud Noir
edition from 2013.
Its aromatic, woody ­ fougere composition with fresh aquatic notes, Calabrian bergamot,
grapefruit and fig leaves at the top, develops with a heart of violet leaf, papyrus wood, organic
patchouli, black pepper and ambrox. Mineral musks, tonka bean, incense and saffron wrap the
composition up and give it a fougere vibe.
The advertising campaign, which was shot by Bruce Weber, includes models Gigi Hadid, Trevor

Abercrombie and Fitch FIRST INSTINCT

Perfumer Phillippe Romano (Inter Parfums) has created a new men's fragrance, First Instinct, for American apparel brand Abercrombie & Fitch that will launch in 2016.

First Instinct perfumer, Phillippe Romano, said: “I wanted to create a modern fragrance that balances both the fresh elements of fougère with oriental warmth. All the notes together, create a scent with worldwide appeal for the Abercrombie & Fitch man and beyond.” First Instinct, an oriental fougère, is intended for “the confident man who is not afraid to express his feelings.”

op notes include an aromatic gin & tonic accord combined with Kiwano melon.

Middle notes offer spicy Szechuan pepper, airy violet leaves and tangy citrus.

The basenotes are comprised of sueded musk with raw amber.

The clear glass bottle with silver-grey juice has the appearance of undulating water. A silver plate displaying the brand and fragrance names adorns the side of the bottle which is completed by a striated silver cap.
