New arrivals! A few bottles of the recent limited edition release from Hazelburn. Springbank fans might take an interest in Sprinbank's unpeated style of whisky. Aged 13 years in exclusively Oloroso sherry casks, this single malt has notes of strawberries, jam and some chocolate. It reminds me of something like Pochi actually.

Ron Zacapa's plantation is located on the volcanic plains of Retalhuleu, 350m above sea level in south-western Guatemala.
Most rums use molasses, a by-product of the sugar making process, as their base; Zacapa, however, is different. To impart a sweeter, smoother flavour, Zacapa uses only the concentrated first press of sugar cane, known as virgin sugar cane honey.
This is the very point at which Ron Zacapa rum's remarkable taste and profile begin to develop.

Nikka follows up their Coffey Single Grain whisky with their Coffey Malt whisky. Both were distilled in Coffey stills at their Miyagikyo distillery. The malt balances the whisky to not be oily and overly sweet. Moreover, the spicy quality from the barrels break up all of the sweet notes.
