Why the name? In front of the building is Roxas Boulevard, behind the building is Alhambra Street...The Bel-Air --- a stunning streamline moderne structure --- has been given new life and a cool new painting color combination of light grey and cream. This art deco structure is easy to find---standing prominently at the southern corner of Rizal Park fronting the United States Embassy. The Bel-Air Apartment Building is historically significant because it both survived the bombs and shells of World War II, which burned down most of Manila.
