On this day, let’s prepare an ‘Original Old Fashioned’. The Old Fashioned, in it infancy, was originally made with rum. Due to the changes in history, bourbon and rye are now more frequent choices. Nevertheless, try it again with a well balanced rum, such as Mount Gay Black Barrel or XO. Save this easy but delicious to craft when you are ready. ‌ What will you need? 1.5 oz / 50 ml Mount Gay Black Barrel or XO. 1 small cube or 1 tea spoon of brown sugar. 4 dashes Angostura bitters. Large orange peel. A large ice cube. ‌ How do you craft? Build your cocktail directly in a tumbler glass. Place the sugar in the glass, add the bitters. Pour 10ml of Mount Gay Black Barrel, muddle to dissolve the sugar. Add a large ice cube and stir with a cocktail spoon. Add the remaining 40ml of Mount Gay Black Barrel and stir again until chilled. Pinch the orange peel above the glass to express the oil, brush the glass edges with the peel and place it in. Sip right away.
