𝐀𝐔𝐅 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬: "𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅."

On December 3, 2024, the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) proudly competed in the AUF Intercollegiate Debate 2024 Finals. Representing the College with brilliance and passion, Legal Management students Jerica Danielle Balilu, Czyra Fe Camaya, Sofia Klarisse Calvelo, and Jillian Frances Lim stood as the affirmative house, arguing the motion: "𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱." Their advocacy emphasized the need for personal autonomy, freedom from toxic unions, and the right to rebuild one’s life.

As Lim boldly stated, “Passing the Divorce Bill is a necessity that gives women the strength they need to get out of a harmful marriage...". Calvelo added, “...the bill values the sanctity of marriage while acknowledging that not all relationships are worth persevering, especially when life, health, and dignity are at stake....". And Balilu powerfully concluded, “...We are not advocating for the destruction of marriage. We are advocating for the preservation of life— for the preservation of health, safety, and hope."

In a gripping face-off against the College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP), who stood on the negative side, the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) team demonstrated exceptional debating skills, teamwork, and eloquence. Though CAMP emerged as champions, CBA secured an impressive 2nd place, leaving a mark of excellence in the competition.

This success would not have been possible without the invaluable guidance of Atty. Monica Carlos and Atty. Alvinson Dayrit. Their mentorship sharpened the team’s strategies and fueled their confidence throughout the competition.

Kudos to the team for their dedication and for showcasing the true spirit of Legal Management and the College of Business and Accountancy— You made us all proud!

Nov. 29 marks the first day of University Week, and it has truly been an incredible, unforgettable experience! 🎉 The vibrant atmosphere created by the yellow and black balloons, the pom-poms, and the overwhelming support from our fellow TIGERS made this opening day truly special. 🐯💛🖤 It is a reminder that none of this would have been possible without each and every one of you. Together, we embody the spirit of unity and pride that defines our CBA department. 💪

A special shoutout to our exceptional CBA dance crew, whose performance at the Sports Cultural Center Building left us in awe. 👏💃 Your talent, energy, and passion resonated with everyone in attendance, setting the bar high for the events to come.

We also want to acknowledge our remarkable CBA Men and Women’s Volleyball teams 🏐, as well as our Men’s Basketball team 🏀, whose display of skill and determination on the court was nothing short of dominant. Your hard work, perseverance, and team spirit are an inspiration to us all.
