In 1990, a retail presence was established in the building we now occupy at the Basin Reserve, and beer and spirits were added to the product range. Regional Wines & Spirits maintains its philosophy and policy of moderate and responsible enjoyment of alcoholic beverages through knowledge and education. Since 1988, we have organised a comprehensive wine, beer and spirits tasting and educational program that runs nine months of the year. The team here has extensive experience and passion for the product with several being involved in judging at national beer and wine competitions. In addition, we benefit from several independent consultants who are involved with our educational programme and product assessment. We were pleased to celebrate being 25 years old in 2012 and look forward to the next 25 years. Last month Daniel Bruce McLaren celebrated 30 years of hosting whisky tastings at Regional Wines, and we marked the achievement with an outrageous lineup of whiskies in the RW tasting room. We'll also be doing a tasting instore on Saturday 31 May from 12pm to 3pm! We had the pleasure of trying the Te Mata 2023s yesterday at the Te Mata Showcase - what a stunning lineup. We have the Coleraine instore (and on special) and it really is a beauty. Bold and assertive but somehow fully composed and superbly balanced. Get it while you can. If you pop in, you will also find that we have small quantities of the Coleraine '21 and '22 - and even a three-pack of the last three vintages at a further discount!
