- 2022 Les Grandes Hermines Chenin Blanc. Classic, delicious Anjou Chenin - green apple, citrus, with a steely, textural finish.

- 2022 Les Armandiers Cabernet Franc. Anjou Cab Franc has a cult reputation. Generous with blackberry and cassis, fresh black pepper, and that signature rustic graphite finish.

- 2022 La Pentière Muscadet Sur Lie. Muscadet is the perfect oyster wine! This is Melon de Bourgogne in a richer, sur lie style. Peach, stonefruit, almond and sea salt. Super fresh.

VIN DE SOFA IS BACK! What might be Australia’s most iconic chilled red is back, this time as a mostly Sangiovese blend and it sure is a stunner!

From day one we have stocked the wines from and it’s been great fun following their journey along the way. Former marine biologists Gareth Belton and his partner Rainbo have gone from making just a few fun things, to farming their own vineyards, building a new winery, and creating a whole range of serious single vineyard and ‘village’ wines too. They seem to have mastered making seriously structured wines with drinkability, and (in the more fun realm of Vin de Sofa and Rainbow Juice) seriously drinkable wines with structure. These are top wines by top people and never disappoint. Vin de Sofa is available to taste in-store today from 4pm. Enjoy!

PARTIDA CREUS - Catalonia, Spain - Behind these iconic labels stand some of Spain’s most delicious natural wines.

Originally from Italy, couple Massimo and Antonella took over abandoned vineyards around their village of Bonastre, restoring them and bringing old forgotten grape varietals back to life. 5 years ago we visited them for a traditional lunch of calçots and artichokes cooked over the fire (and copious wine drunk from porrón!), and were blown away by their dedication and interest in the restoring the heritage of Catalonian wine. So today we are delighted to finally have these wines on our shelves!

MUZ - Vermuz - Vermouth of local foraged herbs and spices
VN - Vino Tinto - Chilled red field blend
GB - Garnatxa Blanca - White Grenache
BN - Blanco Natural - White field blend
SM - Sumoll - A local light red variety

TASTING THIS AFTERNOON - The new release 2020 Calrossie Vineyard Chardonnay - There’s concentration and intensity here, plenty of fresh grapefruit, citrus zest, biscuity oak and toasted hazlenut with a long finish. It’s one to impress! Pouring from 4pm.

Meet Hippo! Born in Paris, Hippo (the 'H' is silent) has pursued his love of wine from a young age, working in Spain, Portugal and France before calling New Zealand home. In his spare time Hippo has a big passion for bread-making, surfing, and loves to entertain.

IN STORE TASTING - FRIDAY FROM 4PM!

BK’s Beaujolais-style Pinot Noir has always been a huge hit, and the new 2022 vintage is no exception. This is BK’s Lenswood Pinot Noir doing 100% carbonic maceration to capture all the bright, juicy berry notes present in the fruit. Light, fruit-forward and acid-driven; fresh blackberry and cranberry, red candy, and cherry cola. It finishes with a touch of earth, green herb and mushroom. Chilled red perfection just in time for summer!

2021 Scala Ciro Rosso Superiore
Crunchy mid-weight red from Calabria. Sour cherry and blackberry, liquorice, woody herbs, leather. Moreish.

2022 Amoise Syrah
Light and delicate, very pretty, lots to love. A big basket of red berries, supple and silky body, and really intriguing szechuan-like spice. Serious easy drinking.

2018 Still Life Barrel Fermented Sauvignon
A big and powerful Loire-style Sauvignon. Heaps to enjoy here, it’s layered and textural but still very fresh. Crazy value. Would easily carry a main course.

For those who have been following the trajectory of natural wines in Australia and New Zealand over the past decade, Patrick Sullivan has been behind some of the most paradigm-shifting, progressive wines being made in Australia. More recently though, Patrick has been quietly carving something of a new path, farming his own vineyards and making 'serious', seriously good Chardonnay. We're super excited to have three new 2022 single vineyard Chardonnays - ‘Black Sands’, ‘Woori Yallock’ and ‘Bull Swamp’ - in store and online now.

Heads up too - this week at we’re pouring Patrick’s 'Black Sands’ Single Vineyard Chardonnay by the glass. Get it while it’s going!
