Meet the Faces Behind Herringbone Wine 🍇

You have seen our posts and stories, but it’s time to properly introduce the people behind Herringbone Wine.

Herringbone Wine is a true family affair, led by Karen, Troy, their daughter Ani, and of course, Ludo the dog 🐾.

Karen studied viticulture and oenology at Lincoln University, bringing her passion and expertise in winemaking to every bottle we produce 🍷.

Troy, on the other hand, comes from a background in FMCG management and farming, adding his own unique skills to the mix 🌱.

In 2016, they fell in love with an 11-hectare vineyard nestled in the heart of the Bridge Pa Triangle. This vineyard quickly became more than just a business, it became their second home and a cherished gathering place.

Today, three generations come together, along with Ludo! Whether it is during the bustling summer season or the excitement of harvest time, you will find them all here, working side by side to bring you wines that tell the family story.

Had the dream team in the vineyard this week - Daughter, niece and nephew. All just finished yr13 so time to earn some $$! Got a lot of debudding and wire lifting done. Debudding is the hardest vineyard job - sore hammies and tired backs all round. Thanks team!

Absolutely amazing Winemaker’s dinner last night at Fisherman’s Wharf Cafe, Ohope. Thank you to Tom and his staff for serving 5 delicious courses - every dish was superb. Big thanks to our winemaker for coming across to talk about our wine as well as showcase 3 of his own. Thank you to all of you who attended - I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Our 2023 Herringbone Syrah is now available on the website. We only make small quantities of this wine to ensure it gets special treatment at every step in both the vineyard and the winery. The perfect wine for dinner with friends or to enjoy by the fire on a cosy night in.
