In Scots, a “Deacon” is an adept and proficient master tradesman. The expert distillers behind our Scotch fit the name perfectly: The Deacon is an homage to master craftspeople, whatever their trade may be.
The Deacon is a masterful blend of both smoky Speyside and peaty Islay malt whiskies, making for a complex, rich, and smoky dram. In our blend, the single malts from Islay have a characteristic peaty smoke flavour, while the single malts from the mainland have a bonfire-like smoke character. A nose of charred orange, sweet malty biscuits and wood-smoke gives way to juicy orange on the palate along with delicate spice, and tangy peat. The finish is both sweet and smoky, long and smooth.

SAILOR'S HOME CARAVELLE 700ML 43%ALC
Part of The Islands Series from Sailor's Home, Caravelle is a 10 year old Irish whiskey made from malt and grain, initially aged in bourbon casks before being finished in rhum agricole casks from Martinique. This has imparted some vibrant notes of fruit and sweet sugar to the flavour profile, making for a delicious post-dinner treat.

Situated at the foot of the Kintyre peninsula in the historic whisky producing region of Campbeltown, Glen Scotia has had a bit of a make-over of late with the release of three impressive new expressions. The 'Double Cask' is Finished in a selection of first fill bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The nose is an intriguing combination of rich fudge, fresh orchard fruit and a sort of dusty earthy note that is quite typical of the distillery. Oily on the palate with rich vanilla and more fudge, it has a slight briny character with a touch of warming spiced fruit developing.

ELIJAH CRAIG SMALL BATCH KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKY 1.75LT 47%

Elijah Craig was named for a reverend who lived in Virginia. He kept a warehouse where he stored barrels and one day experienced a devastating fire. He used the charred casks regardless and found they imparted a lovely character. This is a great 12 year old small batch bourbon, named in his honour.

Tasting Note

Nose: Quite thick and full. There is a beautiful sweetness with notes of toasty oak, toffee, spicy stewed fruits, a touch of resin and a lovely creme anglaise character.

Palate: Full and sublimely smooth with notes if stewed Bramley apples, a touch of aniseed and a hint of spice.

Finish: Good length with toasty oak notes and a creamy sweetness."
