Shop Assistant Lizzy's Dairy, Tinwald, Ashburton
We have a casual shop assistant position available for the summer season. If you are passionate about serving others, you may be the one we need.
Range of working hours:
Due to being a 7-day operation, Weekend (at least one day) and early morning work will be part of the Roster.
5:00 am-10:00 am or 1:00 pm-6:00 pm (5 hours per day)
Starting from 15 hours/week ( 3 days/week)
Possible more hours
Responsibilities:
- Serving customers with a friendly smile
- Ensuring the whole shop area is clean and presentable at all times
- Working well with other staff to complete the cleaning tasks
- Being involved in stock control and management
- Assist in the preparation and cleaning of the kitchen
- Carrying out duties as required by the Manager
About you:
- You must be 18 years or older and
- You are physically Fit and Healthy (not often, but you can lift heavy stuff).
- You can work well under the pressure.
- You are enthusiastic about service to others
- You can work well with others
- If needed, you can pass the Pre-employment testing

Position: Cook

Our busy Dairy shop in Tinwald is looking for an experienced part-time cook. The candidate will join our team and work in our kitchen, helping to produce quality food and reporting to the Head
Chef/Manager/Owner.

This is a fast-paced role with early starts and some heavy lifting involved.
Experience with cooking and food preparation is preferred (independently preparing sandwiches, meals and slices) but training may be given to the right person.

Number of Positions: 1
Minimum hours per week: 20 (More hours possible)
Wages: Negotiable based on experience.
Working days are between Monday to Sunday, depending on the roster.

To be successful in this role, the applicant should have:
- The ability to multi-task and be a team player
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Can assist the Head Chef in producing quality, appetizing food in high quantities·
- Understands and demonstrates a commitment to quality service
- Can maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in a clean, tidy, safe and hazard-free environment ·
- Has good communication and customer service skills
- Remain calm under pressure and work well within a team environment
- If needed, you can pass the Pre-employment testing

Updating

I have reported this shoplifting to the police today.
Thanks to the public support from the Ashburton. After this shoplifting happened, we received many messages and comments, some of which provided the names and addresses of the two thieves. Some suggested that I notify the police ASAP. Some sent messages of support. Thank you to everyone who sent me messages, and thank you to them for condemning the theft. I followed the advice and provided their information to the police today. I would also like to thank the gentleman from the farm who brought us cash in the rain this morning. We didn't accept it, but we were still very touched.

This is not because of the loss of money. If they walked into the store that day and said they were teenagers in our neighbourhood and very hungry but had no money, we might give them free hot food. But their behaviour and values are disappointing.

I hope that the two of them will get the what they deserve, but more importantly, we feel the support from the local community. The support warms us up in the cold winter. Ashburton is a great place and I am proud to live here.
I will continue to update the police's actions if any. Thanks again.

be aware of these two ladies.
They came to Lizzy's Dairy at about 11:20 am this morning (12/06/2024). After taking the drinks and hot food, they turned around and left. After our staff chased them out of the store and reminded them several times, they chose to ignore us and ran away.
I kindly remind you two to come back to pay before next Monday. If you don't do it, we will submit the CCTV footage and your photos to the police. We will also post your photos at the door. You two are no longer welcome in this store.
Shame on you.
