Champagne tasting 🍾🥂

To celebrate the addition of two new producers from the Champagne region we organize a tasting on saturday 6th of May.

Rex & Pia visited the region last month and discovered Domaine de Mondeville run by the Dumont family and Adam-Mereaux, both to be find on our shelves since a few weeks!

We start at 20:00 and the costs are 75 euro per person.

Introducing Champagne Dumont, a winery from Côte des Bar with 7 generations of wine-making expertise. Laurent rejoined the familie 4 years ago creating his own label within the familie business. They practice biodynamics and prioritise sustainability while producing 4 Champagne varieties and 1 red wine - a rare gem. Their vines grow on Champignol terroir with clay-limestone soils like Chablis and Sancerre. We are very exited and can’t wait for the 1st order to arrive. Stay tuned for instore tasting!

‘CLAC!’ 2019 by

Patience pays off! This 100% Menu Pineau is stunning at this moment. Reductive, smokey in the noice followed by a savoury, nutty, ye**ty and smooth mouthfeel. Well balanced with acidity.

Very addictive wine for a rainy, autumnal Monday. 🍯💥🍁🍂🍄.

These very big beauties (Jeroboam) are only available in store. The highly rated 2012 Terrine are Present at Haarlemmerstraat and Overtoom (call first for Overtoom). The labels are made from hand painted canvas.

It's a very limited edition of the rare Terrine wine. This vineyard has an unusual large percentage of Canaiolo, creating the Terrine unique expression. The Canaiolo was regarded the best grape of Tuscany in the 14th century and nowadays the grape can still be used in the Chianti Classico next to the more familiar Sangiovese (but for not more than 20%).

In her Wine Grapes lexicon Jancis Robinson praises the Canaiolo for its velvety texture and firm tanines. Castello di Paneretta and their neighbour Isola e Olena are one of the few produceres using the grape variety in their Chianti Classico. The Terrine is 50/50 Canaiolo/Sangiovese and that's why it's a Rosso di Toscana.

Meet Léonie, your new wine advisor. She literally grew up between wine bottles - her father is still running his own wine shop in Bussum.

Léonie is completing her WSET3 this year summa cm laude. Now she will be at Haarlemmerstraat and in mean time also at Overtoom to advise and fantasise about your favourite wine.

The addition of Léonie also gives us the opportunity to do more tastings and classes.

What a great day to drink the Esparter reserva 2014 of AT Roca. 100% Macabeo. Clean, crisp but with gourmet bitters and a full body.

7 months on barrique and 40 months in bottle.

We love the classic Piemonte. Here's a little impression from the shop. The sisters Cigliuti make the most interesting Barbaresco, with longevity and seductive ripe fruits. Produttori is beautifully classic and expresses the best of the Nebbiolo grape. And Walter Massa saved the almost extincted Timorasso grape.

Piemonte is one of the most admirable wine regions of the world. Taste these wines and you'll understand why.
