What an incredible start of the year, but to start the year fresh, I am taking a little break! The shop will be open only on Fridays and Saturday for the next 3 weeks, back to regular hours from 23rd of February.

Charles Dufour - Bulles de Comptoir #10 Tchin Tchin

Charles Dufour immediately became my favourite Champagne maker. When he took over his family vineyard in the Champagne in the Cote De Bar he switched to organic farming and focused on making wines without adding sulphites. Using a wide range of wines from his cellar as vin de reserve, he brings to his wines an amazing complexity. A few years ago he stopped making his single vineyards Champagnes and he is only making the Bulles the Comptoir from his own vineyards. Next to it he vinifies some of his mothers’ grapes to make the Bistrotage.
One of the things I love the most about Charles’ Champagne are his labels. The Bulles the Comptoir is every year different, and he makes every year a different label for it, generally just a simple drawing on the front label, with some basic information on the back label. I love his punk attitude, stepping out of the seriousness of all the Champaign winemakers by making this rock ‘n roll labels while producing one of the best champagnes you can drink!

Bulles the Comptoir #10 was released 3 years ago, blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Blanc, based on the 2019 vintage with a 20% vin de reserve between 2010 and 2018.

We also have the #11 and # 12 available in the shop as well as Bistrotage B.17 and B.19 and the newly released Françoise

It’s annual Christmas raffle time!

This year I have selected 6 very special wines from the cellar + selection of Italian produce - think pistacchio cream, capperi, olive oil, balsamico and more.

How does it work again? Buy a ticket to participate in the raffle for 4€. On the evening of the 23rd December I will do a live draw on Instagram Live to pick the winner 🏆

In preparation of the holiday season we are releasing some gems that we are storing in our cellar! 💎

Cellar Drop #1:

2 beautiful wines from Etienne Thieabaud, Domaine Des Cavarodes, from one of my favourite wine regions in France, Jura. Etienne makes wines in the north part of Jura from 2007, close to Arbois. The wines are very pure and reflect the terroir, made without any kind of addiction.

- Chardonnay Les Lumachelles 2020 - Cotes du Jura AOP.

Ouillé Chardonnay coming from the Lumachelles vineyard, one of the key vineyards from the 4.5 hectars he cultivates. The wine slowly ferments and mature in a large foudre, it is then bottled without the use of suphites to preserve its energy, freshness and livelyhood.

- Vin de Pays de Franché-Comté Blanc 2020.

Wine made mainly from Chardonnay, but there are some other local varieties coplanted in the vineyard like for example Savagnin, Savagnin Rose and Sauvignonasse. The wine is aged in old wooden barrels and present a gorgeous complex and mineral character, quite savoury and with a very long finsh.
Wine that comes from a new wineyard recently acquired by Etienne, that is located outside of the Arbois appellation system, that's why it is clasified as IGP. Not that this makes it any less good!!!

Dear customers and friends, unfortunately due to my accident and the surgery, the shop will be closed on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 July. On Thursday we will be back open with Jeroen!

Tomorrow we are are organising together with our friends a great event in an incredible location!

From 18:00 will cook his famous Yakitori at , on the Dam square. You can enjoy them on a beautiful sunny terrace facing the Royal Palace, and enjoy some fantastic wines chosen by us, and .amsterdam.

It's a private event, so if you wish to come please DM us to ask for your invitation.

Our specials for this week are both from .
Remo makes wines in the Viterbo area, north part of Lazio. He has a beautiful old cellar in the medieval center of the city, where he makes some very good wines using mainly local grapes.

Both wines are made from the same grapes: Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Aleatico. Pielle is a dark rosato, juicy and smooth with a beautiful fruit, while Mannaja Cane is a light red with a very intriguing taste, tending more to black berries and spices.

Fun fact about the Mannaja Cane label: the man on the picture is Remo's father, and "mannaja cane" is his typical swear word 🤣

To kick away the Dry January in style we are doing a wine tasting at , a beautiful art gallery that ar the same time is hosting a live pottery demonstration.
