So today, let's discuss one of my favourite Cacti Specie, "The Crown Cacti."

The Crown Cacti is from the Rebutia Cactaceae family..

It's a beautiful flowering plant that is native to Bolivia & Argentina.

The Crown Cacti is considered one of the most attractive Cactus specie to have in your garden and environment. When it starts flowering, it's a beauty to behold.

It blooms and grow out of the base of the Cactus and appears larger compared to the plant itself and this makes it stunning and attractive to behold.

It's flowers appear in spring and summer with pink, red, yellow, or orange.

Instead of waiting years for your Cactus to mature and bloom, the Rebutia often blooms in as little as 2 to 3 years. This is one of the reasons it is considered the easiest for garden beginners to grow.

Some of it's rear benefits include;

1. Cactus fruits are very rich in vitamin C, considered one of the best immune boosters.
2. Increases production of white blood cells in the body when consumed as food supplements.
3. Plays very active role in the body helping the body fight viruses and diseases.
4. Contains Betalain & Potassium contents, which is good for digeation.
5. Prevents pests and dangerous reptiles like snakes awake from its surroundings.

So, late last year, I decided to start-up a garden this year (2023) that will house the rarest of plant species nature can provide. After lots of considerations, my team chose the Cactus family because of its rare nature and beauty. To get a variety of cactus specie in our nursery meant travelling as far as the Carribeans to Natures Island, Barbados, St. Kitts et-al.., to mention a few places... this fantasy became more challenging considering the cost implications, but then, as a social entrepreneur who loves adventure and knowing fully well we could make twice money owning an online garden (first of its kind), I drove my team all out.. See how well our nursery is coming... Watch this space closely as we begin to unleash each plant, its hereditary, benefits, uses, history, and the reasons why you should own a plant around your surroundings..

Everyday Should be World Soil Day!

Every day should be World Soil Day!

. It’s beneath us all and we’re only just beginning to uncover the significance of it.
Soil is responsible for cycling nutrients, modifying the atmosphere by emitting and absorbing gases. It provides habitat for animals that live in the soil and organisms such as bacteria and fungi (which account for most of the life on Earth).

We need soil. Especially now more than ever. Soil erosion is a major global threat. Scientists are predicting that we only have about 20-30 years left of soil. On average, we lose around 2.5cm of top soil a year.

Although this situation may seem extremely depressing, there are numerous sustainable approaches that are happening all over the globe. we can not only save the soil, but also repair it and improve its quality.
