TWE Fine Wine Shop Begin with a Dream, Grow with Imagination

It was a dream came true when Tong Woh Medical Hall opened for business in 1968.

With RM 5,000 in hand, Founder Loh Lum Wah started a business in PJ State selling traditional Chinese medicines and herbal remedies. As with most enterprises, TWE’s beginnings were modest. Taking small step at a time, the Company has kept its roots in TCM trade, and diversified into a group with four major business entities, namely liquor wholesale, wines & ci**rs, TCM and personal healthcare. In 2006, our Group’s estimated worth is RM 40 million and the Company celebrated a record-high turnover for all three sectors. Various expansion plans are in the pipeline, as we look forward to a bigger office-warehouse to accommodate the increasing daily business and the beginning of retail branches and boutique wine stores. TWE believes in providing excellent services and embracing changes in this demanding market. Hence, we constantly motivate and empower our front line people to observe and understand the market in order to improve customers’ experience through round-the-clock services and positive attitude. 1979 Started liquor wholesale business and registered as Tong Woh Sdn Bhd
1986 Unicare Pharmacy opens for business
1990 TWE Wholesale is appointed as Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) dealer for Klang Valley
1994 TWE Wholesale relocated to an 8400 square feet office-warehouse at Bandar Sunway.
1995 TWE Retail and Unicare Pharmacy relocated to three-storey shop lots in PJ State. Barcode system was implemented to improve speed and accuracy
1997 Set up Tong Woh Realty (property investment)
2001 Started TWE Wines&Cigars at PJ State outlet
2002 TWE Wholesale expanded to 16,800 square feet office-warehouse at Bandar Sunway
2004 Made partner of Coca-Cola Malaysia for Schweppes products
2006 TWE Wines recognized as one of the Top 5 wine retails in the country
