The Dog Point property has come a long way since it was first farmed by the earliest European settlers of Marlborough. The land was originally used for growing crops, making hay, and farming sheep.

Ivan and Margaret Sutherland purchased the property in the 1970's and were among the earliest Marlborough wine industry pioneers to plant grapes.

With the first vines planted in the late 70's, Ivan and Margaret, along with James and Wendy Healy, launched the Dog Point label in 2004 using fruit from the 2002 vintage.

Today, with succession plans in place, the next generation of the Sutherland family are now involved and are helping run the day-to-day operations of Dog Point Vineyard.

'Case Vecie' Valpolicella Superiore - Brigaldara

Brigaldara Valpolicella Superiore Case Vecie comes from a vineyard located in Valpantena, in the heart of the DOC Valpolicella. This is an amphitheatre-shaped vineyard with climatic characteristics that give the grapes a particular polyphenolic profile. Made from the Corvinone, Corvina and Rondinella varieties, Cesari uses respectful agriculture so as not to affect the natural balance of the terroir. Once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand in 200 kg boxes and immediately taken to the winery. There, the grapes are destemmed and pressed and the resulting must is always fermented in contact with the grape skins and at a controlled temperature of 22°-24°. The wine is then aged for 8-12 months in foudres.

The result is an idiosyncratic wine, of noble origin. Brigaldara Valpolicella Superiore Case Vecie speaks of a delicate terroir and a fresh and unique climate. A wonder of nature that Cesari has been able to showcase better than anyone.

De Martino Old Vines Las Cruces 2017
Cachapoal Valley, Chile

De Martino has embarked on a noble mission to rescue some of Chile's oldest bush vine vineyards from extinction. The Las Cruces ('the crosses') vineyard was planted in 1957 and the resulting wine is a blend of the whole harvest.

Old Vine Series is a range of characterful, irreplicable and unique wines from old vines in the southern part of central Chile. Las Cruces is a field blend of Malbec and Carmenere from a 2.8-hectare vineyard.

Coming from a relatively warm vintage for this vineyard, what differentiates this wine is its superb balance and the freshness achieved despite the heat, something that only old vineyards can offer. This vintage reveals sweet and very juicy fruit and a firm structure, as well as fine tannins and fresh acidity. This is a vintage in which the Malbec really stands out. This is a very ageworthy wine. While it can be enjoyed now, it will evolve in the bottle for another 15 to 20 years.

"The 2022 Chardonnay Fosil hails from Zuccardi’s San Pablo Vineyard in the Uco Valley. It was aged in 75% concrete vats, with the remainder going into used French oak barrels. In the glass, it’s yellow with a greenish sheen. The complex aromas range from green apple peel to chamomile, lime, and mountain herbs such as huacatay, with a pastry backdrop adding further depth. On the palate, it’s lean and dry with a chalky texture and refreshingly tart acidity. The vibrant character is a showcase for the terroir with its austere, herbal notes. Better to keep it for another couple of years to let it truly come into its own. Drink: 2023-2033. (Jul 2023)"

Zuccardi, Uco Valley - Argentina

A few years before 1950, Ing. Alberto Zuccardi reaches Mendoza from his homeland in Tucuman where their great-grandparents had settled upon arriving in the Italian region of AveIino. In 1963, Alberto implanted a vineyard in the region of Maipu not knowing that it would begin the great passion of his life, the wine industry. In 1990, his son, Jose Alberto Zuccardi, assumed the General Director of the company.

In 2005, Sebastian Zuccardi, third generation of the family, lead the development of the new stage of the wines of the winery expansion into the Uco Valley. On his initiative, since 2008 the winery has an area of Research and Development dedicated to the study of the terroir and the different variables that affect wine production. In 2013 the construction of the new Zuccardi winery in the Uco Valley began. It opened in March 2016 with the premise of producing wines with identity, through the continuous exploration of the different terroirs of the Uco Valley.

"This ranks among the country's greatest oak-aged Sauvignon Blancs. Pale gold, it is mouthfilling, with deep, ripe, tropical fruit flavours, gentle biscuity notes, balanced acidity, and a long, dry, savoury finish."
Well-known New Zealand wine writer Michael Cooper had plenty of marvellous things to say about the Dog Point 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Section 94 in his recent wine review. Awarding it 5 stars, he also described it as a "powerful, complex, distinctive wine."
Hailing from a single vineyard site with limited quantities produced each year, the Section 94 is a textured, full bodied style of Sauvignon Blanc where the fruit is hand-harvested, whole bunch pressed and aged in older French oak barrels for 18 months

Les Bancèls means 'terraces' in Occitan. Winemaker Brigitte Chevalier takes Syrah and Grenache parcels from an exceptional, high terraced site with northern exposure, along with a bit of Mourvèdre, and masterfully blends them into this silky, refined wine. Scents of damsons and bramble mix with juniper and heather, perfumed with the wildness of the garrigue. Richness is balanced by a mineral, slatey core and fine-grained tannins. The 2020 is superb: approachable and delicious now, but bright acidity will prolong its life into the medium term. Biodynamic. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2035

100% Sangiovese. The very best parcels of Castagnoli are matured in oak for 24 months. The name of the Riserva derives from the ancient Tuscan stone terraces that shape the visual of the vineyards and winery.

Intense, sanguine colour with vibrant aromas of blood orange, rosemary, and black olive. Fresh acidity cutting through the robust tannin, and a smooth, sensual mouthfeel with breed and class.

Curtimenta Alvarinho - Amselmo Mendes
From plots of very low production at Quinta da Torre, Curtimenta Alvarinho wine combines traditional techniques with modern oenology. Fermented for a few hours with the skins, in “tanning”, then the juice is separated from the skins and fermentation continues in used 400 litre barrels, where it ages for many months. This results in a wine with more intense aromas and flavours, complex and deep, with great longevity.

E. Pira (Chiara Boschis) Barolo ‘Cannubi’ 2018

The E. Pira e Figli – Chiara Boschis 2018 Barolo Cannubi is a lovely wine with a classic playlist of true Nebbiolo aromas. This certified organic wine exhibits wild berry, rose, dried lilac and an earthy touch of white truffle. However, the floral aromas and the lifted fruit are the protagonists in this balanced expression. Chiara farms less than one hectare (just over 6,000 square meters) in the celebrated Cannubi MGA with ancient calcareous clay soils from the Miocene era. This is one of the best wines of the vintage.

🍇 Mourvèdre taken out of tank and pressed

⏱ After a few weeks of maceration and fermentation, the Mourvèdre wine is carefully drained out of the tank. This elegant yet powerful wine will be the main component of our Felgaria wine.

🥚 After this time in the tank, the wine is aged for at least a year in our sandstone eggs.

✌️ Given the very high quality of the crop, Brigitte has never had the need to add any sulphur.

Luis Seabra Indie Xisto Tinto Douro

From vines at least 70 years of age. A single vineyard from Alijo at the very high altitude of 580 metres with blue schist soil. Variteals are Tinta Barroca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Rufete, Malvasia Preta, Donzelinho Tinto, Touriga Brasileira and Touriga Femea. Foot trodden, naturally fermented with100% whole cluster, with only a 10 day maceration. After tasting the wine you will understand why. Aged for 18 months in used 225litre French oak barriques.

Bright notes of black fruits, violet, lavender, geraniums and pink peppercorns. The least textured of the wines, but this is not to imply weakness. Deep, brooding and mineral. Silky palate, round shape and smooth almost lulls you into a sense of sweetness. Until the rifling tannins kick in with a squeeze that is all to***co. One of my favourite Seabra wines ever. A complete wine!

Muddle 2 cloves & a rosemary sprig in a shaker, add 50ml Cotswolds No 1 Wildflower Gin, 15ml honey syrup, 25ml lemon juice and ice, shake and strain into an iced coupe glass. Top up with ginger beer and garnish with a dehydrated orange slice and a sprig of rosemary.

Ex Arena - Domaine de Cébène, Faugères AOC France

Ex Arena is Latin for “From the Sand,” an homage to the terroir from which this wine originates. The Ex Arena vines are located on Villafranchian soil and on a 40-metre-deep bed of sea sediment and alluvial deposits. Besides offering the vines extraordinary drainage, this soil is perfect for low-vigour vines that yield small quantities of grapes with great concentration and complexity, obviously the key to a great terroir. In these outstanding conditions, Grenache forms expressive fruit aromas with spicy sweetness and roundness reminiscent of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, combined with a surprisingly fine, fresh, spicy mouth and soft tannins, which makes Ex Arena unique in the world of Grenache wines.

"Today we harvested the L'Ermita vineyard in Gratallops, the drops of extreme perseverance!" ”, Alvaro Palacios

L'Ermita is one of those wines that crosses the border of what a wine is, to become an object of desire, an exclusive piece, worshipped and coveted by many and achieved by very few.

L'Ermita is the great masterpiece by Alvaro Palacios in Priorat. A sublime red wine made from Grenache with a small percentage of Cariñena and 2% of white grape varieties.

The grapes used for its production come from a small plot of just over 2 acres with slate floors and very old vines, between 75 and 100 years old, located in the village of Gratallops. The low production is carefully selected. The selected grapes are destemmed and gently squeezed. The varieties are vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in small wooden vats, applying movements to extract all possible colour and fruit.

The malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging takes place in new French oak barrels for a period of 18 months.

L'Ermita is one of Spain's best-known wines. A masterpiece. A round wine, spectacular. With all the character and personality of Priorat.
