Pit stop in Macungie in Pennsylvania at my cousin’s Maria. Did I tell you that grandma D’Onofrio was born in Birdsboro? She went back to VIllamagna with her family at the age of 9 in 1920. Part of the family stayed in US.
It is place that is Italy for me, where the Italian traditions are kept alive . Maria cooked a wonderful pasta with the original tomato sauce they make every summer. Every time I meet them it’s like being at home. It’s family. And as you can read from the article dedicated to them on the occasion of the tomato sauce day “the sauce is the purpose, family is the reason”
