In the high-profile road rage case, the special investigation team (SIT) of the police today nabbed three accused, including the Thar Jeep driver, who were on the run after allegedly running over a Haryana Roadways (HR) driver near Kundli last Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg, at a press conference, said the three accused were identified as Pranjal of Inderpuri, Kunal of Ramesh Nagar and Vikas of Basai Dharapur in Delhi. They were arrested from Punjabi Bagh in Delhi. All accused would be produced before court on Wednesday, the SP said.

Earlier, the police had arrested one of accused Monika Grover of New Moti Nagar late on Friday night, who was a gym owner. The police also recovered the Thar Jeep from a parking lot in Delhi and also arrested the owner of the jeep and mother of Pranjal Khurana in the case.

Jagbeer (49), a driver in the HR was crushed to death in the wee hours on Tuesday. Saddened with the death of Jagbeer Singh, his younger son Sandeep had reportedly committed su***de by consuming poison on Wednesday. After that, the Roadways employees went on strike for one day.

The Delhi Police on Monday arrested at least 13 persons indulged in hoarding Remdesivir injections, oxygen cylinders and concentrators in different parts of the city. An ambulance driver was arrested for allegedly charging Rs 9,000 to ferry a Covid patient, while two nurses were held for stealing dead patients’ Remdesivir.

The West district police arrested three persons including a hospital supervisor for selling oxygen cylinders illegally at higher rates. The accused have been identified as Sandeep, Mohit and Nortan Parik who is a hospital supervisor at Konark private hospital. “We received information that a person named Rohit, who is black marketing oxygen cylinders, would come near a bus stand opposite Rajdhani College, Punjabi Bagh. We laid a trap and arrested the person when he was coming with an oxygen-filled cylinder in an auto,” said police.

Two nurses of a private hospital in west Delhi who allegedly took Remdesivir injection vials of dead coronavirus patients for black-marketing have been arrested, the police said.
The accused have been identified as Domathoti Yashwanth, 27, a resident of Harsh Vihar, and Deepak, 28, a resident of Budh Vihar.

With an unprecedented rise in coronavirus cases, the drug is in high demand these days even though experts have underlined its limited benefits.

The police said they had received a tip-off about the two accused and laid a trap near Punjabi Bagh Flyover after being informed that Yashwanth would arrive there to sel Remdesiver injection at inflated prices.
