This has now happened to me on a couple of occasions when you are stopping at the new lights at the AIB bank you are a good way back from the junction when the lights change to green and you drive forward into the yellow box there are pedestrians crossing the road by the time they have all crossed the lights have gone red again and you and the cars behind you are stuck in the middle of the junction
If a bus happens to come round at that time he won’t get round and the cars stuck in the junction won’t be able to go back
The perception of the pedestrians appears to be that the cars are so far from the junction it’s safe to cross and once one goes groups of people just follow
