Well Done to Tiarnan O'Donnell, (son of Neasa Fahy, Achill Sound) and Kate O'Brien, who came 4th in the PR2 mixed double sculls at the Paralympics this morning.

Unfortunately, They didn't qualify automatically for the final, but they will have a 2nd chance when they compete in a repechage tomorrow (9.50am Irish time)

Rowers Katie O'Brien and Tiarnán O'Donnell are into the repechage of the PR2 mixed double sculls after their weather-delayed heat in Vaires-sur-Marnes.

*Achill Mens Shed* will be opened officially on this Friday, 31st May at 7pm.

Our local councillor Paul Mc Namara will do the official opening and the Shed will be blessed by Fr Tom Gallagher.

This is an open invitation to everyone - not just men!!! So if you’re curious to know what we get up to, you can pop down for a look from 6pm.

We are still welcoming new members so if you know anyone who might like to get involved, this Friday is a perfect chance to come and see our Shed.

It is early days and there is still a lot of work to be done. We hope to have it complete before year end.

After the official opening and blessing tea and light refreshments will be served.
