With St. Patrick’s Day fast approaching its easy to get overwhelmed by certain big brand stouts. Remember there are plenty of high quality, hand crafted Irish Stouts and Porters out there on the market. Here’s our most famous and arguably the best; Crann Beatha.

Aged in freshly emptied Irish whiskey barrels, this 10% Imperial Stout is the epitome of richness and complexity. On the nose it presents aromas of dark fruits such as plum and raisin, complemented by hints of candied orange peel and dark chocolate. The palate reveals flavours of dark chocolate and dark roasted coffee, with a finish reminiscent of cinnamon, liquorice and dried fruits. The aging process imparts additional notes of vanilla and caramel, enhancing the beer’s depth and complexity.

We’re not really one for awards but it’s great to get some consumer appreciation for our beers via

Good Times and Shanco Dubh were the second highest rated beers in their respective categories in Ireland. While Oak & Mirrors placed 3rd, so a good showing all round.

Great work as always from Shamey!!!

I have such a love/hate relationship with staining and finishing! It takes forever, it is mind-numbing, your hand cramps up, you're constantly worried about runs and drips, then you remember there is another coat to go, maybe even two... but then it's finished. And it all seems worth it!
