St. Nicholas Quarter/Bridge Street Works Update

Progress on the Nicholas Quarter development is continuing steadily, with road surfacing on Bridge Street scheduled for next week. As part of this, Phase A on Bridge Street South will open to traffic, while Phase B—covering the Bridge Street/Castletown Road junction to the Northgate Street junction—will close for the next phase of upgrade works.

To facilitate the Phase B setup, the traffic island at Newry Road bridge will be removed on Tuesday under temporary traffic management. A three-way signalized traffic control system will be installed and remain in place throughout the Phase B work period, with plans to suspend temporary signals over the Christmas period.

While some minor disruptions may occur next week during surfacing at the Bridge Street/Castletown Road junction, the Nicholas Avenue/Maxwell Row route will be available to minimize impact on road users.
