A fantastic launch of the Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Tawny Port Cask this evening with Cian from

We got to taste a stunning line up of 4 of their whiskeys starting with their single pot still original, moving into single pot still Marsala and their latest single pot still tawny port.

As an added bonus we got to try a sample of their limited edition single malt galanta series.

Just in from the Croithlí (Crolly) distillery. Located in the west Donegal Gaeltacht village of Croithlí, County Donegal, set between the Wild Atlantic Coast and the stunning Errigal mountain. Their distillery home is a restored historic stone cut building constructed in 1901. They want to connect this part of Ireland with the world through craft whiskeys, double distilled in Donegal’s first functioning licensed whiskey distillery in 180 years. Their whiskeys are a great showcase of how the different oaks influence single malt Irish whiskey.

Limited to only 500 bottles this is the second and final release of Jack Ryans Raglan Road 5 Year Old Irish Single Malt, cask strength 55.5%. The whiskey is matured in Bourbon, VinSanto, Madeira and Oloroso Casks then finished in Brehon Brewhouse Imperial Stout Cask.

Expect a nose of Cadbury fruit and nut, walnuts and raisins with a rich and layered palate that finishes with more chocolate, oatmeal biscuits and lingering peach skin.

After at least eight years of elaboration in the cellars, the wine embodies the perfect balance of Dom Pérignon, the Plénitude of harmony.

The 2013 winemaking year proved a welcome reconnection with the glorious past of late harvest vintages. After a cold, wet winter, spring was gray, quite cool and extremely rainy. The hot and dry summer was particularly beneficial for the quality of the grapes.

A beautiful brilliant yellow colour with orange tints. It tastes firm and dry and has tremendous power, length and minerality.
