Green Man Wines is a wine shop, wine bar and café, launched in February 2015, by husband and wife team, David Gallagher and Claire O'Boyle Gallagher. We want to share our passion for artisan wine and food and to provide a place where people can hang out and enjoy the good things in life.

Back by popular demand is the launch of our upcoming wine tasting evenings aka “Wine School”.

These tastings happen to coincide with the return to schools, however they differ just a little bit ;)

I have four fantastic wine evenings planned for you and they just happen to be presented to you by the finest in their field!

These are going to be wonderful evenings (wine and food a plenty) certainly not to be missed and I would encourage booking asap to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited. Booking link in bio 🍷

New wines from Burgundy just in. Their value and quality are 🙌 Domaine Henri Germain et Fils are located in Meursault and was established in 1973. The estate expanded when Henri married Paulette Pillot, who inherited vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet. Their son, Jean-François, later took over and further grew the domaine with a premier cru plot in Meursault-Poruzot after marrying Sophie Jobard.

Jean-François now oversees 7 hectares of vineyards across Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Beaune, joined by his daughter Lucie in 2018. They craft wines with organic practices, hand-harvesting, and low yields. The wines ferment slowly in a cold cellar, aging on the lees for two winters with up to 30% new oak. This careful process yields refined whites with vibrant fruit and silken reds that reflect the vintage and terroir.

Some delicious Champagne just in and crafted by the talented Charles Dufour. The Champagne Francoise Martinot “Bistrotage” 2019 is from a collection of grapes sourced from his mother Francoise, under the label Domaine Francoise Martinot. - A blanc de noir comprised of 100% Pinot Noir with extended ageing on the lees. Then the “Bulles de Comptoir” #12 - Pinot Noir/Chardonnay/Pinot Blanc (60:30:10) 2021 base with 20% from a 2010-2020 perpetual reserve. Finally & V limited is the “Ballad of the Villages” 2004 made from Pinot Noir & Pinot Blanc – 17 years on lees – A wine Charles made with his father.

A journey through Germany, Austria and the Czechia with Anke Hartmann

Join us on what should be a fascinating journey through Germany, Austria and the Czechia hosted by Anke Hartmann.

Anke caught the wine bug during her chef’s training, has her WSET diploma, is a certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers and in 2023 was awarded the prestigious title of Irelands Best Sommelier.

Anke has many years’ experience in the wine trade having worked in some of the best restaurants in Ireland and abroad and in 2019 she opened the brilliant Lamplight Wine Bar in Clifden, Connemara.

We’ll taste several wines from across these three countries, made by young, dynamic winemakers whose wines are truly exciting. Wines from Claus Preisinger, Zantho, Milan Nestarec and Immich-Batterieberg to name but a few.

Chef Dan will prepare a selection of regional dishes to accompany the wines on the evening.
