We’ve had a lot of chats with people about what was in our Baggot St site previously so we did a bit of research… looks like we’re continuing a fine tradition!

From the National Library of Ireland…
Halliday Brothers was established in the 1860s by one brother, who was subsequently joined by another; they sold tea, coffee, wine, fruits, spices, and ‘household and domestic requirements.’ See Strattens’ Dublin, Cork and South of Ireland [Directory] for 1892 for an entry for this “...commodious shop with splendid plate-glass frontage of imposing proportions…in which is displayed with tasteful effect a choice of high-class goods”.

We will swing that door open tomorrow at 11am and be there doing all things 🍷 until 8pm.

A labour of love that took a whole heap longer than we ever could have expected… blood, sweat and bucket loads of tears have gone into it and pushed us to the precipice on many occasions. Hopefully you can come by and support us, we would love to see you!

Many of our best customers bring a parent for this event, it's a great shout for a father's day gift as it's just couple of weeks after.

Today Mick’s tasting a Bourgogne Rouge from Amelie Berthaud in Fixin. Bright and crunchy Pinot that’s also smooth and round in style, with black cherry aromas and velvety tannins.

Mick chats Coteaux de Champlitte Chardonnay from Pascal Henriot - our best selling white. Pascal is an organic winemaker in Champlitte who does everything by hand including bottling and labelling. Amazing value we have the full range in stock including the rosé which has just landed 🥂
