Villa Noria Infusions Orange wine (left) is white wine made like red wine, the orange-amber colour coming from extended contact with the skins and seeds resulting in colour and tannins.
Muscat grapes are harvested at night to preserve freshness and avoid any form of oxidation. Natural fermentation occurs at low temperatures and without the addition of sulphites or yeast, with ageing on fine lees until bottling.
Pale amber in the glass and spellbinding on the nose with notes of ginger ale, candied fruit, apple and redcurrant jelly. The palate is structured and dry, but well balanced, autumn fruits with gingerbread and secondary flavours of orange peel, dried apricot and finishing with tangy redcurrant jelly.
Villa Noria Amfòra Natural Orange wine (right) is made naturally without sulphites or yeast, is white wine made like red wine, where macerating the skins and seeds for three months results in the release of pigments and tannins which give the wine a coppery colour and grippy structure.
Grapes are sourced from a number of Villa Noria’s certified organic vineyards, this is a blend of Muscat, Clairette and Piquepoul. Following maceration, the wine is matured in terracotta amphora, whose porosity provides regular oxygenation and also helps reduce the acidity and round out the tannins.
Rich copper-amber in colour, this presents an atypical and very interesting aromatic profile with notes of gingerbread, candied orange, beeswax and honey. The palate is full flavoured, rich and rounded, Tanora-like with it’s ginger-spice nuances, baked apple and nutty notes, it’s softly textured with a slight bitterness from the tannins, with a taste of rhubarb and ginger jam on the finish.
