Very excited to begin our new chapter as a wine bar this weekend in Scraggs Alley, Carlow.

Through these past couple of years of craziness, one goal has remained among Irish people: keeping the energy and spirit of the hospitality sector alive.

So, with a big dancing fire, cosy lighting and comfortable seating, the old night club dance floor is now set to (hopefully!) before a go-to spot for quiet catch ups and big nights out in equal measure.

Blend or Not?
Lots of customers seek a single grape variety as they think that's all the like. A single grape variety can create an amazing wine but don't overlook blends.

Blending is when winemakers take the opportunity to create a unique flavour by blending wines from different grape varieties or vineyards.

The Flavio is made from the iconic Italian grapes Primitivo which gives you a delicious dry wine with rich tannins and a medium body of juicy dark-red fruit.

The Valle Cupa is a blend with Primitivo grapes. This wine is rich with notes of blackberry, ripe red fruit and hints of spices. On the palate it is full-bodied yet it has a softness and freshness with a long finish.

St. Emilion is no secret to wine lovers, and now we know why!

The WineBuff Glasthule, along with other business propertiers from the village, have just returned from a culture and fun filled trip there.

The wine and chat flowed, while we caught up with old friends such WineBuff founder Paddy Oflynn, the team from St. Emilion based WineBuff (voted best wineshop in the area!) & Pierre Lavau who let us taste his recently harvested white wine grapes... Along with many more.

Irish Independent journalist, Liam Collins summed it up in this piece with the line "it doesn't get much better than this".

Now, time to recuperate / taste the wines we stock from that area. Why not call into us in All Al Fresco, Glasthule village to taste them too?

Sunday roast with the wow factor. Partridges nicely lined up, wine perfect match to the gorgeous game, rich black currant colour, elegant spicy smell, wild blueberry jam, slight cinnamon, red fruit, mild tannns lingering nicely in your mouth.
